Hello From OwyheeStar

Sunrise October 21 2017

Onion harvest is in full swing, and we saw the first local field emptied on our way home from our family birthday gathering last Saturday. I always love to see the onions being gathered but hate that the fields are stripped of the crops.

Oregon Governor Brown announced that our county will return to phase 1 status as of Monday. “Over the past month, COVID-19 cases in Malheur County have risen so much that restrictions must be put back in place or we risk further illnesses and death in the region,” said Governor Brown. “I know this change is difficult, but immediate action is necessary in order to reduce the spread of the disease and protect all those who call Malheur County home.”

This notification came with the stipulation that it will last at least 21 days. Of additional concern to the risk of COVID-19 in Malheur County is the number of cases in the last month in Idaho. With tens of thousands of Idahoans in Malheur County every day to work and shop, the alarming rate of cases in neighboring counties is relevant to the risk in Malheur.

AT OWYHEESTAR

The current litter is keeping us busy–as you might guess. This week was the Discovery and Placement Test. We are trying to catch our breath, prepare for the upcoming litter exit, etc.

We look forward to swimming the pups this week. It is always a fun event.

This Week On the Blog…

Thanks to our faithful OwyheeStar contributors–they make this all possible. We sincerely hope our readers enjoyed these updates as much as we did, too.

Once again, we find our supply of blog material running low again. If you can help, send me a note. It would be greatly appreciated.

If you have a story that you will let me share–I need at least three sentences and a decent photo. I prefer to receive it via email. (FYI–we only use stories that feature the OwyheeStar Weimaraner).

Sunday— August 9 — Sunday Faces

Monday–- August 10 — Stone Relocated

Tuesday – August 11— Gretchen

Wednesday — August 12 — Power Nap

On a very personal note

The garden is coming along–we are picking tomatoes, cucumbers, and zucchini. During the intense week with the puppies, the zucchini got a bit ahead of us. I like to pick them small–but Jacob picked on Thursday. He was surprised by the size of the squash. They almost grow while you look on, don’t they?

Cliff has been busy with some plumbing adjustments. We had a leak that flooded our kitchen a couple of days ago. Since then, he got things working a lot better. (Hurrah!)
