Enzo in Portland

~ with Jedi

It has been quite sometime since I reached out. As you know life has been crazy busy but good.

I was recently in Portland over Easter holiday with Katie, Justin, & Jedi. I just wanted to share a couple of the photos. It is really hard to get good photos of both of them together. Enzo and Jedi play great together.

FYI Enzo is doing great in life.

He has been such a joy to have in our life. We go on walks almost everyday and on the weekends we usually go on hikes when weather permits which he loves. Anyway I know it’s not much but just wanted to let you know.

It was great that Enzo and Jedi got to meet up again, and of course, that you spent the Easter holiday with your family. Were it not for them we would never have met you. Quite a few of our applicants come direct referrals. Thanks to the Jedi’s parents for connecting us, too!

We genuinely appreciate you Emailing this wonderful update–the story of the two Weims, as well of news of Enzo.

We are doing well. She has quite the temper and will let you know if she doesn’t like something. We are working at getting past the sharp puppy teeth thing. She is going to be a Sharp Hunter.

Meet Enzo

IMG_9680

Hi it’s Tina. I just wanted to share a few photos of Enzo with you. I don’t have a Facebook account as I am not really a social media person.

Enzo is such a great puppy and we love him so much. He is fitting into our family perfectly. I look forward to each new adventure.

Enzo at 11 weeks old has been such a joy added to our life. As he is adorable, he is still very much a puppy chewing on everything and keeping us on watch all the time. Even so we love him as addition to our family.

We are so happy, so thanks again.

Breeder Comment

We are so delighted to hear that Enzo is doing excellent. He sounds like the typical Weimaraner puppy. They love using their mouths, and when it is not the mouth, then it is their feet. Both empower the Weimaraner pup–and are challenging to get in compliance. (Haha) Cliff and I are both so happy to get the news from you. Thanks ever so much for the update. It means the world to us.

Our Life With

Azula

20180927_150541

Azula is growing like a weed.  She went from 10 lbs. last Monday to 13 lbs. today!  She has been sleeping most of the night and has learned come, sit, and down.  We are also working on “crate”, “kisses” and stop (especially when she starts getting too mouthy).

20181005_155402The cats are still wary of her, but our normally skittish cat is actually much more nonchalant about her than the other one.

She has been absolutely delightful unless she is in one of her frenzied teething fits, when she sees us as fair game for chewing on.

While she still doesn’t love her crate, she has occasionally retreated to it for naps. She did have a bout of diarrhea last week, so the vet held off on her parvo shots until today.  I’m attaching a couple of photos for you…

And here is a link to a video from tonight, of our very opinionated baby girl:  Azula Fetching

I hope all is well with you guys! Stay dry and warm, ~Christine

We are happy to hear about Azula and her adventures. We cannot emphasize what it means to be hearing from so many of you this fall. We truly appreciate it. In truth, I burn through the updates pretty quickly at a blog a day. (Haha) I am sure Azula’s littermates are thrilled to see her cute face again, too!

The Nose Knows

Skye

     ~On the Scent

20181009_130902Our girl Skye is doing great! Vet check and vaccination went really good. She is so social and loving. She makes me giggle when she gets “on the scent” while we are on a walk and she is nose to the ground, tail in the air and those little legs are just beebopping along as if she is dancing on some kind of imaginary line and only her nose knows where she is going. It is the absolute cutest thing. She loves to snuggle and play. And often is found in some strange sleeping positions.

Couldn’t imagine any other breed for our family. We are so in love.

We are so happy to hear that Skye is making your heart happy as well as providing plenty of entertainment. Knowing the story behind the story, we are doubly thrilled to hear how happy you are with the experience. Ah–you are either a Weimar person or not. I think I told you they are somewhat addicting, too. (Haha)
People like you make the work worth doing. Thanks, again!

Azula

Smart and Opinionated

     ~Quick Study

Azula is super smart, she was already bringing her toy back to me.

Azula_180043

She is an opinionated and self-assured little girl – and has bonded to us quickly.  She’s also been super good about going outside to do her business!  We love her  spunk and affectionate manner. Now if only her tiny raptor teeth were less sharp…

Azula was sleeping in her crate 😊. As you can see, she doesn’t always sleep in her crate.   Right now she’s crashed out next to my 16-year-old.

Other Fur Family

Here she is checking out one of the cats….

Neither of our two cats is amused by her – but the one you saw will actually probably be fine soon – she loves to play and was out hunting voles while we were keeping Azula entertained…

We are happy that little Miss Azula is settling in quickly. Before long, she and the cats will have things worked out–probably a chess match situation. We appreciate the update–the photos and the video is fabulous. We look forward to hearing how things go as she matures. We expect great things. Thanks for your loyalty. We don’t take it lightly.

We are all in love. We are over the moon! Our daughter still gets teary-eyed holding her. She is so in love and happy.

Your story touched our hearts–we are glad this little girl could join your family. We can only imagine the journey on which you embark. The stories, the confidences, the adventures you share are yours alone. Well, let’s be honest. People are more apt to tell a Weimlover they think our obsession is silly. (Haha)
Clearly–you are infected already and speaking of a second one. We look forward to your updates –the stories and the photos. We look forward to one day down the road a bit helping you with another Weimaraner. Then, you can join the Two-Weimaraner family group. There are a lot of folks that have two or more. I am not saying that it is for everyone, but alas it is a bit like potato chips. (OMG)
Oh, thanks for loving Evangeline’s artwork. Silly me–I didn’t get it when she said she loved drawing on my puppy papers the most. We are glad you liked your information packet; and that you are a part of the OwyheeStar community. Thanks in advance for your loyalty–it means the world to us.

Labor Day 2018

Mousse

     ~ Nursing Her Babies

Some of you have been following the current litter. Updates have been posted every week. We thought an excellent way to celebrate Labor Day might be to honor Mousse’s effort at raising this litter. What can we say? It is no small thing.

They love being out in the puppy yard. Mousse doesn’t like being with them so much now–she wants to see them, and then the sharp teeth cause he to rethink that desire. Nonetheless, she does nurse. What a good Mama. They are eating kibble, drinking from the waterer, and growing every day.

A mother’s labor of love is something to be celebrated, too! Happy Labor Day!

Handling

~Helpers

Helpers-Mousse X Boone 2018 Wk2-3.jpg

Our helpers (Granddaughter, Ashley, and her two girls–Evangeline Grace and River Rose) have been giving us a helping hand. Of course, this is not every step in the handling process–more of an add-on thing. I think you can agree it is precious, but also that we are blessed to have these young puppy handlers to assist.

Young hands mean a different way of touching the pups. Well, there is the gentle touch and then the less than tenderness from children this age. All of it is essential in the early stage of development. Even the various human scent–it matters that both women and a man handle the pups. Cliff is involved in the process as well. On the weekends, it is the Cliff and Shela Show. (Haha)

Helpers-Mousse X Boone 2018 Wk2-5

These girls take their work very seriously–examining and commenting on the least of concerns. We have two stools so both can assist at once. Now, imagine this–they believe this the norm. On occasion (when they come here), we don’t have puppies. Then they are not too thrilled with us. Since spring, we have had pups born–the girls have been here a lot because of the garden.

It was not too upsetting, because between litters we have a couple of females we kept for the future as well as acquiring Manfred (the new Longhair Stud Dog). Now, it is excellent to have the babies because the keepers are a bit rough on these girls–SnowAngel jumps up and easily overpowers River. (Haha) She will learn as time passes, but for now—the three youngsters (Manfred, Gladys, and SnowAngerl) are a bit much.
