Hello From OwyheeStar
~Cliff, Shela, and the Weimaraners
February 15, 2020

Hello
The February weather has been somewhat as we would expect–toying with us. First, we get Spring-like weather, and then Mr. Winter comes along to spoil the fun. The prediction, however, is for an earlier spring. That sounds excellent to me. I cannot wait to see our hayfield greening up. I think it is a bit like watching water boil–it takes longer when you have your eye on it. (Haha)
AT OWYHEESTAR

We are busy with the business of pups. We have a few late winter pups, but Spring pups are on the horizon. So, I am getting a lot of interest as well as applications. We have some people on the Wait List for that time frame, too. It is always the same question–who will have pups, and what will you have available. There is simply no way to guarantee who will have puppies or what we will have born. We cannot guess if the Mama will carry a litter to term and if she does how many pups we will get. Then too, we cannot predict the sex of the pups, nor in many instances, the coat color.
We had the opportunity to get Longhairs, and it seems the people on the Wait List are not ready. So, we are going to be very busy with the six gorgeous (lovely-temperamented) gray longhairs. If you remember Bart–they are from the same mating as he was (Atti X Stackhouse).
Oh–and the wagon happened. You probably remember the old wagon. It has given us years, but although we can still use it, it needed replaced. Cliff put together the new one and built the new sideboards.
This Week On the Blog…

As always, thanks to our faithful OwyheeStar contributors–they make this all possible. (Haha) We sincerely hope our readers enjoyed these updates as much as we did, too. We hope everyone noticed the post regarding vaccine. We hate to keep bringing up this topic, but it is a Weimaraner thing.
If you have a story that you will let me share–I need at least three sentences and a decent photo. I prefer to receive it via email. (FYI–we only use stories that feature the OwyheeStar Weimaraner).

On a very personal note
I hope to make another trip to meet more family in May–I will see how this works out. I want to meet several family members–but feel it is essential that I meet Aunt Lil (who is 92) as well as my older brother, Danny. Cousin Donna has graciously invited me (in many ways a total stranger) to stay with them in Portland. She also said she will tote me around–I feel very honored.
We have been doing a lot better health wise. (Hurrah!) Our main concern has been for family who had some challenges–first, our oldest granddaughter, Ashley, who gave birth to Jackson in early January. Then she got very ill and was hospitalized–she is struggling on so many levels. We are so very proud of how she is managing a very difficult situation. Thank goodness her mother in law is the type to step in and help with the kids. She has sister in laws who also make it their business to support her. Of course, she is the same for them when they are in need. Isn’t that how a family should work? I think so.
Cousin Wanda, who flew in to meet us in August is stuck on the Princess Cruise Ship quarantined with the Coronavirus outbreak. It has been quite the ordeal. We are following her news on Facebook and we have corresponded with messages, too. We hope this will come to end soon and she can get back home. We cannot imagine the confinement which must seem nearly endless–she is anything but a laze around type of person, too.
I just read that Americans are going to be released from the cruise ship, but they will face another 14-day quarantine once they reach American. Hopefully, it would be a better situation. I am sure they are ready to get off that ship.
