~Reports on his Camping Adventure

We just got home from the best camping trip ever. I remember this place from when I was little mom and dad took my last year when I was just a puppy. But now that I’m bigger it was so much more fun.

We dug in the sand for clams and I got so dirty. I jumped in the water to clean myself off I loved the water. We even ran on the beach. There was water there too. At night when mom and dad are sleeping I love to jump into their cots and hog all the bed. I can’t wait til we do it again.

Dear Dude–what a fun place to go camping. At the dirt, the water, and the fun combined to make it a memorable trip. I appreciate you dropping us a note and getting someone to snap the pictures of you, too. You write really well–I should find out where you studied. (Haha)
Remember Bart?
~ Friday Marks Five Months

This Friday Bart will be 5 months old. Tuesday will be 6 weeks with us. I haven’t needed a band aid for 3 days and today Dan was able to put on his shoes and socks without any chewing or helping. Bart also napped next to me, curled up at my hip, 2 days in a row for 3 or 4 hours.
Today our farmers market was very busy 100+ people and lots of dogs. There was barking, kids playing and lots of people asking about Bart and petting him…sensory overload and Bart was awesome! A couple of motor cycle groups went roaring down the nearby highway and the loud noise didn’t phase him. It was a very good outing. Thank you for all of his training. I think he likes us and is comfortable in his new home.
He loves walking the 804 trail and he has favorite people and dogs he is happy to see.
Here is where Bart chose to lie in the sun for a little snooze, on the tiles for the outside shower.. I wouldn’t let him go on the front deck unsupervised because he eats the dirt and dead plants in the pots.

We knew Bart never looked back once he got into the car with Dan. Everything was new and different, but as Weims go, he made a swift and decisive transition. You did great–as I had suggested not overwhelming him. Maybe it would not have been a big deal; however, we will never know. You took it one step at a time–there was never a hiccup.
Remy Blue
~ part two
Trips to the “holistic” vet have been fine. No issues with the titer testing, in fact, our vet was quite pleased with your protocol. Remy Blue did fine. Next big milestone is spaying sometime this summer.

Remy Blue took to initially swimming in our pool. She is much more adept at the water than Riley, our last Weim.
Car rides are fun, but Remy Blue becomes sad when my daughter, Evi exits the car for her activity. The tears of a Weim are so heartfelt. She also likes drinking my coffee; she seems to want me to stop at Starbucks for another.

Beach walks are fun for Remy Blue. She seeks out other dogs and wants to run and catch the water. I thinks she likes being a California Weim.

It is so great to see Remy Blue in her element and to hear how well she is doing at the Vet Visits, traveling, and enjoying the beach. Yes–she is a California girl.
Bart
~A Few Days

Today (May 23rd) Bart is fully recovered from his travels and has come out of his shell. He has discovered every nook and cranny of his new home and has become quite confident. Everything he does is now at a hundred miles an hour. He can jump up on the bed, he kind of slides to get down. He can hop on and off of the couch. Anything with corners is a “target.” Bart needs a long play date with Charlie. We will take him for a walk in our immediate neighborhood this afternoon to burn off some of his energy. We’ll keep his nose out of everything and wash his feet when we get home. Bart is going for a walk on the beach tomorrow. Not off leash yet though.

Everyone thinks Bart is incredibly cute and very handsome. They didn’t know about Longhair Weims until our postings on FB.
Bart just started a new indoor game. Our house is shaped like a U. On one side there is a long hall. He walks down this hall to my bathroom then turns around and runs down the hall as fast as he can. Sometimes he makes a left turn and runs and jumps onto our bed. Funny stuff. He needs a walk. Dan will be home soon so we can take that walk.
He is so smart! Potty training has been easy because Bart knows which door he has to go through to get to the back yard, no messes into day 3. He is sweet and head strong at the same time. Very curious about everything! We love having him in our family & home. We’ve gone from an old senior to a very young toddler. We’re going to have to catch up. We’ll keep you posted. We all had a good nights sleep last night, no midnight play.

We could not be more delighted to hear that Bart is adjusting and getting you trained. Oh, I meant that he is getting trained. (Haha)

Bella Blue’s
~1st trip to Brookings OR.
Lots of smelling going on. Both she and Jack had a ball. Bella even did a great imitation of the Flying Nun! Showing my age with that old show! Hope you and Cliff are doing well! Zula Blue x Stackhouse the magnificent!

Sometimes I think these Weims have all the fun. Who wouldn’t like a trip to Brookings? Thanks for thinking of us.
Something Fishy
About Camping
Mommy and daddy took me to a new place with lots of fun stuff to do and new smells. We went to this place they kept calling the beach it was so much fun. We played in the water and I ran so fast. Daddy even brought my ball so I could chase it. I was so tired when we get back I had to take a few power naps.
Later mommy and daddy took me on a walk to this place with big rocks by the water. It was so cool there, mommy had a long stick with a string at the end and she kept shaking it above the water until finally she got super excited and pulled out what they called a fish. It was so interesting I kept wanting to put it in my mouth but they wouldn’t let me. We had so much fun I can’t wait to go again.
Vacation
Arliss and Jorga
~ Weimar Cousins
After sending Jorja’s Papa off to Montana, Arliss asked to take a vacation from his little brother and go to the beach with cousin Jorja. Of course, both mommy’s said sure. Tomorrow and Thursday we get to go on the beach walk with Jorja’s mommy and other dogs.
Then on Friday meet a new friend Butters. ( Auntie. Eileen will try to send more pictures. ) Our friend’s mommy, Jeannie from Shasta, who visited me at Auntie Arleen’s when I was a puppy. I hope I remember her too. I go back home to mommy on Tuesday when Auntie goes on her first cruise.

Reunions
It’s Amazing
~Jorja Remembered
Jorja is loving up on her “interim” Mom, Emma. Arleen and Emma took care of her until she could make the journey to Belgium. She hasn’t seen Emma since she was 16 weeks old, but she remembered her. Jorja was a trouper, she made the 8 hrs flight from Brussels to Chicago, hopping into her crate with ease. Through customs in Chicago, back into her crate after a drink and potty break for the 6 hr. flight to Portland, OR. She was happy to see cousins Arliss (Arleen’s Blue), Auto and Izzy. She seems to have a crush on Arliss.
At Home
Jorja is happy and loving her new home 🏡. Her new favorite word is beach. She and I have started walking with a ladies walking group. She loves to run, greet people as well as other dogs. One lady calls her the new LB greeter. Not to forget the birds–she still loves them too.I am thrilled with her approach to the water. She also hasn’t been in the water since at Arleen’s when a puppy, but she is in it now! It is going well. We are home near family, she has adjusted. We are doing well.~Eileen

The Early Stage
Our Maelee
~Enjoying Life
She loves playtime with the kids, fetching & retrieving every day. Introduced her to the sheds, though we’ll wait a little longer due to height and she can still be a bit clumsy at times.
She is very smart & likes to test us (repetition is key); we’ve used hand signals along with voice commands throughout her training (helpful for hunting later on, we prefer this method over whistle training). Overall she is very loved, happy, healthy and has made her place in our hearts. We look forward to every new adventure, and with our very active family, she has much to look forward, too!
Training is going great! 1st time playing in the sand this week, too!
