This Week’s OwyheeStar News

20120816_193246Possibilities are always around the corner

Every week it seems we hear of someone who has lost their beloved Weimaraner. On occasion, it is an OwyheeStar Weim. Other times it is someone who discovers us due to their loss, and search for a new family member. Loss happens. it happens to us too! When we think of possibilities, we like to think in positive terms. We always want to hope for longevity and health. We want to miss the mishap that can snatch them away in a heartbeat. We don’t often talk about loss, mishaps, and facing these things. Nevertheless, the reality of it always is looming on the horizon. Each day they grace our lives is a special gift. Who can say what might go awry, or snatch them from us. We sincerely hope for the twelve to fourteen years (or more if health allows). The last week we have heard of losses, and incurred one ourselves. Like you, we wish to forego these events, but it is not always possible. When you write us of your loss, we feel it with you.

We will not forget. Remember Kali. She has not been found. We know Phillip still is haunted by her sudden departure. We all know she is still out there. Someone has her. We believe she is loved, and hope she is well cared for as well. I know we are not the only ones praying that Kali will return.

Autumn Arrives

The weather is unpredictable. Chris, our hay guy as we call him, is watching and waiting to get the last cutting done between these storms. We keep getting the storms, and we do need the moisture, but a couple of the toad-straggling downpours were a bit much. Nevertheless, we have nothing to complain about. Those folks in and around Evans, Colorado are feeling the ravages of too much water. Our heart goes out to them. The aftermath and cleanup is still going on. Getting moved back in, and completing the restoration is going to take awhile. Of course, some folks lost more than others. We are glad to hear about the efforts to save the entire household–pets included.

Saturday is here

Another week has past. There were several ups-and-downs. Shela is working to restore files that apparently didn’t weather the latest storm (and power outage); nor did they backup correctly on the system. With so many fail-safe backups in position, you would think everything was covered. Nevertheless, with technology, sometimes the unexpected happens.
Looking ahead, we find ourselves trying to get the files back that were saved toward future blogs. It remains to be seen what will happen. Some may be lost forever. If so, we will make the best of what we have available. . :) With that being said, we will need to be brief today. Thank you for understanding!

Many blessings and warm wishes from Shela and Cliff–(and the OwyheeStar Weimars too!)

~Thank you for being a part of our lives!
