I wanted to send you an update on Bisbee.
With the serious concerns about the coronavirus we are spending more time at home. It’s all very difficult. The comic relief in our life right now is our adorable 4-month-old Bisbee. His name should really be Busy-bee. He is a real source of joy.
Some things he is loving right now are:
- Joining anyone in the shower – he seems to love water
- Teasing the cat
- Eating any type of shoe he can find (this morning he added eating my glasses to the list ☹)
- Playing with another dog
- Gnawing on antlers
- His crate
- Snuggling when he is tired
Some things he is not loving:
- The sound of the trash can being pulled up the driveway
- Other dogs that come at him quickly
- Rain (Go figure since he loves the shower)
- His puppy food (we are trying some new options)
- Following commands
He is a real joy! Carol
We could not be happier to learn that Bisbee is doing well, and much loved. Thank you for thinking of us. I love that he enjoys getting into the shower.
My neighbors across the street, Cliff and Nancy, were on vacation when you brought Sophia and they got home last Thursday and got to see Sophia on Friday with their “girls.” Annie is 8, a yellow lab, and Sally is 4-ish, a border collie mix that was rescued. Annie and Sally always come running across the street whenever Azura and I are in the front yard, and they did exactly that on Friday. Sophia was overwhelmed, ran under the table, came out to me and then met Annie and Sally one at a time, backed away from Cliff at first, then sniffed his hand and licked his fingers and the games began! In an instant, she was racing around the front yard with Annie and Sally and Azura, actually keeping up with the big girls most of the time. My little girl held her own, for sure! And, best of all, she never went into the street even when Sally would run across the street to her yard and then back to my yard. Later Nancy came over to meet Sophia and Sophia warmed up to Nancy almost as quickly as she did with Cliff, and then she went running back to the girls to join the fun. I’d love to tell you that Sophia stayed in the front yard the next time we were out front and Sally and Annie came over, but she followed Sally across the street, so now we’re going to be slowly going into border training. Oh, and you should know, she figured out how to come in the doggie door in about a week and a half! She hasn’t figured out how to go out, but she’s definitely got the coming in part nailed!
Hope you both are doing well and are enjoying this beautiful weather!
Thank you, Lisa, for sharing this sweet story and the news about Sophia.
-It Has Been a Year
Henry turned one in December– we got him a year ago in Feb. He’s huge. And loving, very clever and hilarious. He’s such a wonderful pup!
We met some friends who also have one blue and one grey weim! How funny!! Haha And of course, here he is looking beautiful and ready for Christmas. One more fun fact about Henry!! He is SOOOOOO vocal! He sings and talks when he wants things! Is he part husky! Haha
Then there are other laughable as well as adorable moments–we captured some of those here.
We cannot thank you enough for this fabulous update on Henry. He looks to be thriving, and what we notice the most is he is integral to all things family. From all appearances, the resident Gray boy accepted the new OwyheeStar Blue Boy. What a cute pair they make.
~AT Three Years Plus
I can’t Express what a joy Ruger has been to our family. I meant to send you a pic and message on his birthday on June 7th when he turned 3! I can’t believe he is 3 already!
In March, my son Logan and I took a road trip with Ru as we call him for short…to Cannon Beach! What an awesome place, especially for dogs! We stopped in Hood River for a night and spent 4 more nights in Cannon Beach. We all had so much fun! Ruger Loves the beach. We will make this an annual trip for sure!
I was a little nervous about the 8 plus hour car ride from Middleton ID. But with stops along the way he did great!! He is such a great addition to our family! Thanks Shela and Cliff for such a great pup! We all love him so much! More updates to come!
Beth, Jeff, Logan and Maisy
All too often, I wish I were an OwyheeStar Weimaraner–all these trips to the beach and whatnot. (OMG) We are happy to read that Ruger is much-loved and included in all the fun. Thank you–we appreciate you thinking of us. Happy three years–here’s to hoping for many more.
~Rabies shot day!
She is waiting patiently. After our shot we went to Lowe’s and Foster made a comment “people are sure a lot nicer when you have a dog!” Lol!
Duchess got a lot of attention from other customers AND treats from the checker at the store so even though she was a little shy she had a positive experience.
~Allie’s New GSP Pup
Here is some pictures of introducing a new family member. Some of these are Skye and some are Haze and then there is my old man Aussie. They are all being introduced to Allie’s new puppy GSP.
They all get along. Haze is the one looking away trying to show Sparta GSP to watch for birds! Skye is sharing her toys nicely with the puppy by dropping them and teasing her to even dare to try to get it! Keller (Aussie) Sparta things he is a fluffy chew toy. ~ Jean
It is fabulous to see the OwyheeStar Weims being so polite with Allie’s new puppy. You have done great things with these girls–we thank you!
We just returned from a marathon camping trip that included many fun activities but we were able to get the new puppy swimming!!! Here are a few highlights of the puppy!!
We are so happy to read that Ace swims–that is three OwyheeStar swimmers in your household. Seems to me, that I remember you have had difficulty in the past getting the Weimaraner to swim. But recently–you score. That is so awesome.
~ And Water, Too!
Diesel is so into the ball! He loves the water retrieve. Oh, and by the way, Duchess did well in the water too!
As always, my boy Foster is in the mix. He and the Weims–they are pretty much my life.
Yes, Duchess who is about six-months old now also swam. She loves the water. She is a natural.
We wish you lovely summer weather–and lots of opportunities to enjoy the water as well as the sunshine this summer.
~Can Mean a lot of things
You might remember that we picked up Duchess not all that long ago–and our Diesel was not all that thrilled with her arrival at first. He wasn’t bad, but his attitude said, “and I don’t think we need this.” So, we were off and running back to the Two-Weim family again, hoping that Diesel would fall in love with Duchess, too.
Fast Forward six-weeks
School is officially out. This is what I see as I leave for work–Foster and the two Weims snuggled in. This boy is not short on Weim snuggles!
We are getting out into the community, too! Since we got back the good results from the recent titer test (showing we were protected from the Parvovirus), we have gotten out and about. For one, we made it to the dog park, and I now have two really tired Weims.
Yes, Duchess will rule the roost, it is what it is. Scout and Diesel aren’t impressed where HER game of keep away with the ball 😂Well, here is the look that speaks volumes from our boy, Diesel.
I figured Duchess had already been swimming at your place. She took to the water naturally. Later, I learned that you didn’t have water in the pond, and this was her first water experience. Wow–and she swam, too!
We love hearing about Diesel and Duchess. It was especially sweet to learn that she is a natural in the water. Have a fun summer–Foster, has a job.
~Our Charlie Mae Shines
Well, that is interesting. You might remember Charlie Mae as the girl who wears the Christmas lights every December. Here she is in all her glory–, isn’t this spectacular? Oh–what more can we say?
