Colby

Puppaccino anyone? Yes, Please–

Colby loves going to Brie’sta. He gets so excited when we pull into the parking lot where the drive through that he hops over the seat and waits next to mama for his puppaccino. It’s his favorite thing. Here he is, licking his lips in anticipation for the treat that will surely end up all over his nose and lips. And my fingers.

Thank you, Jenn–we know that any Weims who read this blog will identify with Colby’s experience. Puppaccino was a perfect blog for today.

From Jan Magnuson

We all need to give our dogs interesting, enriched lives and keep their minds and bodies in shape. We like to say “a tired dog is a good dog”, so lots of daily exercise, in addition to training of course, is very important. Providing entertainment like toys is fun for them too, and there are many types of quality dog toys that we can get for our doggies. Folks sometimes say to me “my dog has SO many toys but seems bored with them”, so here is a simple way to make them fun again: rotate! I have a “jillion” toys for my dogs (no surprise ) so I give them a few each day or two, then put those away and give them a few different ones…it makes me laugh how those toys now seem brand new and novel to my dogs, try it and you will see! Here is Willow with her “new” favorite today, the squeaky pink flamingo!

Thanks Jan, for passing along some pointers. We appreciate it. And, we always love hearing about Willow.

Enzo

~In St. George, Utah

This is Ashley! Casey and I are the proud and happy parents of Enzo! We picked him up back on May 2nd! His parents are Boone and Clover and he was born on February 28! I was wondering if you know if any of his siblings are in the Utah area? Las Vegas? We wanted to do a little reunion with his siblings if they are close! We are in St George but driving somewhere for a weekend so he can have some fun with his litter mates would be worth it for us!

He’s turning into a handsome dog! He’s very eager to learn and has a great sniffer on him! Can’t wait to get him trained on tracking/hunting!

He’s a Velcro dog for sure and loves to be involved in everything. We do let him sleep on our bed and he loves to snuggle but knows that breakfast is at 8 AM every morning and will never let us sleep past 8!

He has some adult Weimaraner friends and one of the other owners is getting a puppy weim in a few weeks! He plays hard and sleeps even harder. His favorite treats are pig ears Or cow tendons and he will usually carry them around the house and hide them until he is ready to eat them. He loves sunbathing in the morning after eating breakfast and his evening walks out by the fields where he can chase birds. He found us a deer leg that some coyotes had left – we did not let him pick it up but he pointed and got excited. He’s been the biggest blessing to us since Puppy Kane passed away in April. He sniffs Kane’s collar every once in a while and always seems to know when Kane is on my mind. He will boop my hand or leg or face with his snoot and give me a few kisses. It’s amazing.

Anyway, I’m sorry for rambling on. We would just love to have a litter mate reunion! –Ashley

Hello, Ashley and Casey! It is so excellent to hear from you. As to meeting up with his littermates–they are somewhat scattered through the Pacific Northwest and even in California. Who knows what connection you might be able to make. Possibly one of them would connect with you via this post. Please stay in touch–we love hearing about the adventures of Enzo.

I must admit when people come to us having lost a pup from another breeder; I get nervous. We are thrilled that Enzo is thriving.

Here’s a way to exercise your Weimaraner and to have a ton of fun too–unless you end up on the ground.

These two are amazing.

Luna’s Favorite

Thought I’d pass along a few pics of Luna with her FAVORITE toy.. boy does she love playing with the ball over all the others she has.

My daughter being a soccer player since she was 5 cracks up watching Luna bat the ball around with her paws and chasing it. 😝

Breeder’s Comment

Luna is a rockstar. Everything she does is cataloged and celebrated. She and her brother Dink are always in people’s thoughts. Thank you for all your posts. We love knowing that Luna is doing well–and how things are unfolding in her storyline.

Salem Weim Playdate

You may or may not know about the Salem, Oregon Playdate hosted by Bill and Nancy Garin. This event happens every month –here are a few photos from one of the recent gatherings.

If this interests you–and you want to join in, let us know and we will help you connect with this fabulous group. If you didn’t know–Nancy and Bill live with Luna and Tikka.

From Chester

Hunting season has started and Mom and Dad woke me up super early and we climbed up into the truck and drove to the woods. I love going to the woods, I get to run so fast because there isn’t a fence in the woods.

Mom and Dad were going so slow so I would turn around and sprint back to them but sometimes I have a hard time stopping and almost knock them over. We saw some birds and got some mushrooms to bring home. After we got done for the day we drove home but I was so tired from all the running around I had to take a nap. Can’t wait to go back soon and maybe next time we will catch something big to bring home.

Love Chester.

Chester–you are amazing. You go on the best-ever adventures. Thank you for taking time out of your insanely busy schedule (where you take care of your Mommy and do other things, too) to drop us this note to share.

Bob and Cody Wolff

~ Little Tail Adventures

Together they have created some Weimaraner magic with the tales of their adventures.

Well, Bob Wolff graciously sent us a copy of his children’s books featuring his Weimaraner, Cody. I assure you that our granddaughter loved the book, but she was adlibbing because she doesn’t read yet. I want to give you a link to Bob’s books–you might never have heard about them. What could be better than a book that features a Weimaraner?

Breeder Comment

Thank you, Bob, for sharing your fabulous adventures with us. We hope some of our Weimaraner fans will want to snag a copy for their bookshelf, too!

Dasher

~Our Silly, Happy Boy

Audrey and I  want to share a short video and photo of our silly Dasher .  He will be two in August , and is happy , healthy and super energetic, especially if there is a frisbee or day involved.  Imagine that!

We could not be happier to have him in our family  and owe you and Cliff a debt of gratitude.  He’s perfect!

Have a wonderful summer.

We will with our Dash!

We remember all too well our early conversations and the pondering of which pup you might end up getting. In the end, apparently, we got it right. We could not be happier to hear you and your Dash are delighted with each other.

Legit Questions Here

~ Weimars everywhere want to know

Should we say–“Caption This!?!”

Just imagine what might be going through their mind…

  1. Where do they think they’re going?
  2. Do you think they forgot us?
  3. How much time do we have?
  4. Do you think he is coming back?
  5. Do you think we can open the refrig or pantry? Maybe both–

Are these two conspirators? That is a good question–together they are either better behaved or more creative with their antics.
