Reunions

It’s Amazing

     ~Jorja Remembered

Jorja is loving up on her “interim” Mom, Emma.  Arleen and Emma took care of her until she could make the journey to Belgium.  She hasn’t seen Emma since she was 16 weeks old, but she remembered her.  Jorja was a trouper, she made the 8 hrs flight from Brussels to Chicago, hopping into her crate with ease. Through customs in Chicago, back into her crate after a drink and potty break for the 6 hr. flight to Portland, OR.  She was happy to see cousins Arliss (Arleen’s Blue), Auto and Izzy.  She seems to have a crush on Arliss.

At Home

Jorja is happy and loving her new home 🏡. Her new favorite word is beach.  She and I have started walking with a ladies walking group. She loves to run, greet people as well as other dogs. One lady calls her the new LB greeter. Not to forget the birds–she still loves them too.
I am thrilled with her approach to the water. She also hasn’t been in the water since at Arleen’s when a puppy, but she is in it now! It is going well. We are home near family, she has adjusted. We are doing well.

We were so happy to hear that Jorga was safely stateside; however, the picture you paint is beyond amazing. What an excellent traveler.
It sounds like she slipped into her new life. She loves the beach. She loves the people. She loves everything about her life. Isn’t that fabulous? Thank you, Eileen, for the share. If you live near Long Beach you might meet Jorga, she will be glad to make your acquaintance.

Winchester

Rocks the Dog Park

    ~Sleepy Boy Afterward

Winchester is 16 weeks old and he is so happy and playful. For today’s adventure, we took him on his first trip to the dog park. Winchester loved all the new smells and running free. He was very well behaved the whole time. He was so sleepy when he got home then it was time for cuddles. Brandon and I love having this sweet boy he is truly a blessing.

Thank you, we truly appreciate this little note concerning Winchester (AKA Chester). The fact that he brings you joy is evident. We love seeing all your posts celebrating the moments as well as the achievements. Keep up the great work.

She is such a great dog; sweet, smart and playful. She’s really matured in her second year of life. Thank you so much for picking such a wonderful dog for our family, we are so happy to have her!

Thank you, for thinking to share photos and news concerning Rey–your Blue Longhair. We realize everyone has a super busy life–you are no exception. We sincerely hope Rey brings much-need joy and an extra dose of fun to the household. We truly appreciate lovely photos. Have a beautiful summer together.

The Early Stage

Our Maelee

~Enjoying Life

3062

She loves playtime with the kids, fetching & retrieving every day. Introduced her to the sheds, though we’ll wait a little longer due to height and she can still be a bit clumsy at times.

She is very smart & likes to test us (repetition is key); we’ve used hand signals along with voice commands throughout her training (helpful for hunting later on, we prefer this method over whistle training). Overall she is very loved, happy, healthy and has made her place in our hearts. We look forward to every new adventure, and with our very active family, she has much to look forward, too!

3116Training is going great! 1st time playing in the sand this week, too!

We love the photo documentation. Thanks for that! We love seeing she is working at the Versatile lifestyle thing–all terrain Weimar.

Living the Life

Mesquite

~ Can and Old Girl Learn New Tricks?

Mesquite on Point_0446You can see the Cottontail right in front of her. I think the rabbits enjoy her also.

My shot-shell reloader helper. I can’t get very far away from her. She is happy and doing well.

She can’t wait to get after the Quail every morning. I have to keep a good pace to stay up with her, she knows right where they hang out.

How could we ever thank you, folks, enough? Mesquite has the best possible everything.

A bit delayed

Bayou

~ At the Office

I know it has been a long time but I’ve been meaning to email you for a while!
Bayou is doing fantastically! I now work in an office at a design firm and she comes in with me all the time and absolutely loves it (and so does everyone else). She loves doing just about anything as long as she is around her people. When she has to be alone, spends her days napping and sunbathing.

She’s honestly the best and I can’t imagine my life without her. Thanks so much for making it possible to have this wonderful dog in my life.

Breeder Comment

What fun to hear from you! We are delighted to see and hear the news that Bayou is well-socialized and a fantastic family member. Of course, this is exactly what everyone dreams will happen. The Weimaraner can be challenging–isn’t it worth it?!?
Thank you, for thinking of us as well as being a great Weim-loving family.

Wondering

Pushkin

    ~Wavy Hair

Clement's Pushkin 183422
I have included Pushkin’s neuter certificate. Please let me know if this will suffice or if you need me to mail you a hard copy.
He obviously does not like the E collar; however, he caught on quickly to the fact that if he quit licking he didn’t have to wear it.
We start intermediate obedience training on the 29th. Unfortunately, we have to put his “swimming lessons” on hold for at least 10 days. When we went to the lake the first of the week he would go into the water until it was chest high but no swimming yet.

Just out of curiosity, do either of his parents have wavy hair on their back? Push has a large patch of the most beautiful short wavy hair😊 Push has beautiful hair. Everyone that pets him comments on how soft his coat is.

Breeder Comment

Thank you, for the neuter certificate. We are happy to hear you continue to work on his training. It is great you have enrolled in Obedience Training–the swimming lessons have to wait. Nonetheless, we suspect they remain on the horizon.
Keep working on the water when he heals. I believe you have said he has a strong retrieve. Cliff can help you with advice if it comes to that, but just keep him retrieving in the water and give no thought to anything. Make it fun–work him along the edge. When he is totally comfortable, you might want to attach a rope to your dummy and toss it on the cusp of him needing to swim–very slowly (and without concern, knowing you’ve got this) toss it ever so slightly beyond his comfort zone. With a rope, you could nudge it back a little way. you can reel it in if necessary. You’ve got this.
I don’t remember Dixie having it. Boone does not. Nevertheless, Dixie (Greta X Stackhouse) is a Longhair Carrier. That can travel forward for many generations without folks knowing it is present.

Ah—he may well be a carrier of the Longhair DNA marker. It does improve the coat a lot. Some Weims have sparse hair that is very coarse.

At The Vet

Life With Mr. Tilman

     ~ He is a delight

IMG_20180619_192105_654.jpgI just wanted to give you an update as we had our vet appointment last night and Mr. Tilman weighed in at 25 lbs! He sure is growing like a weed!
He is the sweetest, most happy boy and we are so loving him! He has recently discovered birds and squirrels and anything that moves is VERY intriguing. We just started puppy obedience and of course, he is showing off that he already knows sit, down, shake and come. What an absolute joy he is!
Take care, Emily

Breeder Comment

Mr. Tilman, you are lovely. I am totally biased–openly admit it. We are hoping you continue to do well. You have a big job. Your Mama has big plans for you. (Haha)

I love that you have such a fabulous life–keep up the excellent obedience. Your job is to make others smile if nothing else.

Remy

My Sidekick

~ She has grown a lot since we brought her home

image-13-06-18-10-57Here is a quick update on Remy. She’s doing great and growing up so quickly. She is my little sidekick all day and we love that she is getting the family out on walks every day.

The Dog Park & More

image-13-06-18-10-53I introduced her to a local dog park last week and once she got used to, she really enjoyed being off leash.
She’s a sneaky one, always has her eye on any food on the counter and the squirrels in the backyard tease her daily. She started obedience school this week and is so quick to learn, she really does want to please and I’m sure it will bond us even more. The kids adore her, the daily greeting at the bus stop is the best part of our day. Hope you and Cliff are well!

Breeder Comment

We realize Remy is about six-months-old. It is amazing how they can still be a puppy and look adult. It is great she is getting the socialization and interaction at the classes. Yes, I am certain she is very intelligent.
Thank you, for all you are doing with Remy. We truly appreciate you remembering us!

Together

In Perfect Harmony

Today is THE day that we have worked toward and practiced for since we became a team almost 3 years ago!!

Today Shiny and I melded together in perfect harmony to run 7 miles…on leash. No pulling, swerving or stopping to sniff.

In perfect step with each other – even though we were on the well traveled (and breath taking) Glenwood Canyon trail.

It was if he was owning his “job” regardless of bicycles, tourists, and other dogs.

“I am running with my Mom. Don’t bother me.”

And it was Beautiful!!!!                ~Julia and Shiny

Breeder Comment

There are no adequate words to describe our admiration and appreciation. You and Shiny are doing amazing things together. This running with purpose (and in unison) is one more area where we see the fruit of all your consistent labor. We look forward to hearing more about Shiny–maybe next time it will be another bit of Nosework news. Thanks ever so much for this update.
