Stone
~The Little Blue Guy
We just got the results back from the 16 week Titer test. Stone tested positive for both antibodies, which is great! However, the vet technician warned me that Stone could still be at risk and that they suggest the 16 week vaccination. I am holding strong.
Stone is very much at home here, loves his big brother, Blue, tolerates his crate, devours his food and then heads for Blue’s bowl (and shock of shock, Blue lets him eat from his bowl!), and continues to be the world’s best snuggler. Everyone stops me on our daily walks to coo over how sweet he is. Stone is really smart too – and we start Obedience Classes in May.
But who leaves out dog treats when a Weim is waiting for the vet???

~Our Heidi
Heidi goes almost everywhere with us, and is in great health, with the exception of some residual trouble with her right rear knee after TPLO surgery. She still runs like a maniac after the squirrels, but sometimes pays for it later. We’ve kept her on the probiotics and NuVet vitamins since day one, and we seem to have avoided any trouble with sensitivity to different foods or other issues. Thanks again for our beautiful girl!
We Would Love to Hear News
We would love to see other photos of Heidi’s siblings, and know how they are doing. As you might guess, we were delighted to read about Penny, a littermate of Heidi.

Thank you, Val for commenting on Heidi’s sister Penny. It is nice that two are living the life–one in Idaho, and the other in British Columbia on a ranch. Maybe someone will read the blog and send along a story, some photos, or some tidbit of information about another littermate. We cannot guess what will happen. Life is busy–sometimes people forget about us until they suffer the unthinkable–a loss. We are always sad with them, and at the same time so happy for all the years they had together.

Roxy and Sage
~and their Non-Weim fur brother-Cooper
We got my flowerbed and the entire front and other side of the house weed blocked and river rocked. The only thing that grows well in the dry heat here seems to be petunias.
Roxy likes to stand on top of the septic cover where it is a bit warm during these cold days while she smells the air. A lady whose dog died gave us her round Costco dog bed. Sage is even venturing out of her crate to lay on it. One day she and Roxy left a bit of room and Copper joined them. Roxy and Copper play and play, loudly at times, and wear each other out. Copper still tries to jump up on me. He thinks I am his play buddy. Not the brightest bulb. He will be 2 in March. Roxy still is cheeky as ever. She will ring the potty bells then run into her crate when you open the door. Sage has proven herself to be the biggest bone hog. Roxy’s favorite hobby is to lay in the sunshine near the sliding door and watch for critters. I had to move my parsley plant which I brought in for the winter because she was munching on it.
One more thing. It was so funny. The other day, Sage sat with a bone on the dog bed. Then she barked at Copper every time he looked at her as if to warn him not to even try to take her bone. She is so funny at times. She has her bossy moments too!

We are glad to know that Sage and Roxy are still doing pretty well for you. I do always worry about River Rock. Recently I got a message about a young Weimaraner who ate several rocks. (OMG) We have known of several persons who had an issue with their Weims ingesting rocks which can lead to a life-threatening intestinal blockage. I am sure Roxy and Sage will not start eating the rocks, but it is always a concern. Your flower bed looks lovely.

Ducky came into my life on his 8 week birthday. My first Weimaraner, Ted, was a silver grey so I decided to go with a blue this time around. People often ask me how I came up with the name Ducky. I have a litany of answers: he was born in Oregon, he was #7 of 9 in his litter – so a lucky duck, he waddled a bit like a duck as a puppy, I’m Mindy Brown and there’s a famous fashion designer in NYC named Duckie Brown – but most important, I just liked the name, I found it unique and it fit him to a tee! He has nicknames like Duskster, Duck Duck, Ducky Brown, The Baby, King of the Hill, my Angel, etc. but mostly he’s just plain ole Ducky. He’s also my Hunter. That hunting lineage is definitely at the forefront of his personality. He’s always looking for something to hunt down – whether it be a fly in my kitchen or a squirrel running across my back wall. He also thinks he’s a cat as he can leap and scale a 10’ wall. He’s not so ball crazy as my last Weim, but he definitely likes to play – only problem is – he destroys all of his toys. He’s definitely an elite athlete. He loves to go to the park and play frisbee – loves to run on the beach and loves to go for rides in the car. He likes to bask in the sun and lounge after his off leash hikes in an unincorporated area of Palos Verdes. He loves to play with other dogs and is as fast as lightning – always the leader of the pack. He prefers to have a part of his body touching me and usually has a shoe, slipper or piece of my clothing tucked under his snout. He likes to sit wherever I am and often times stretches a body part on me. He’s also very loquacious – as he’s always talking to me – especially when I’m cooking in the kitchen or working on the computer. But above everything – he loves loves loves to eat! This dog has one mighty appetite and loves his fruits and vegetables.
I honestly didn’t think I could ever find an equal replacement to Ted, but after 3 years and several trips to Sun Valley – I put all my faith in Shela and Cliff – and my prayers were answered. I had only two requirements: a large blue male – and sure enough, I got that and much more. Above and beyond all of his other great traits, he’s the SWEETEST and SMARTEST dog and an amazing companion!

Weimaraner Art
I’ve been working hard on my Weimaraner art that I thought you may like to see. Of course, I use my favorite Weimaraner, Zeus, as a model! 🙂
I create custom Christmas ornaments from any picture of a pet. It helps if they are clear, close up pictures. The ornaments are transferred onto painted wood, distress and waxed. They also have a rustic looking wire hook for hanging. The ornaments are around 4″ x 4″ depending on the picture. I also make custom wall art that is a little bigger than the ornaments. I am attaching a picture of the ornaments. I sell them for $15.00 each and all you have to do is email me a picture at: jeannelacasse.decorating@gmail.com or text it to me at: (360) 441-0112I also make custom signs. I made the above Weimaraner sign (of course). They are done on painted wood, hand painted, distressed and waxed. I can add a rustic hanging wire on the top or on the back of the sign but they also stand on their own. The color of the background is also up to you! I’ve used Grey for obvious reasons. 😉 All lettering is hand painted. I also painted a Weimaraner head but that is optional. I’ve attached the picture of the sign I made. I sell them for $20 each. The Nose Knows

~On the Scent
Our girl Skye is doing great! Vet check and vaccination went really good. She is so social and loving. She makes me giggle when she gets “on the scent” while we are on a walk and she is nose to the ground, tail in the air and those little legs are just beebopping along as if she is dancing on some kind of imaginary line and only her nose knows where she is going. It is the absolute cutest thing. She loves to snuggle and play. And often is found in some strange sleeping positions.

Hi Guys, just wanted to give a quick update on Reznor. Everything is going great & we are about to head out on another road trip down to Oregon & California to visit our Family.Recently we got our Rez a new tactical style harness & collar that allows for patches & we are certainly having fun w/them.

Hello from Pocatello, Idaho
~Did someone say TREAT!
Here is Dejah Thoris (Mesquite x Stackhouse) at 1 year 2mo…and 84 lbs! Her older sister by one year, Vizsla named Ayla, is 54 lbs. They eat the same amount of food but Ayla is an obsessive squirrel hunter who will focus on the task for hours while Dejah comes back in the house after 30 minutes to sit on the couch with me.
