~On the Scent
Our girl Skye is doing great! Vet check and vaccination went really good. She is so social and loving. She makes me giggle when she gets “on the scent” while we are on a walk and she is nose to the ground, tail in the air and those little legs are just beebopping along as if she is dancing on some kind of imaginary line and only her nose knows where she is going. It is the absolute cutest thing. She loves to snuggle and play. And often is found in some strange sleeping positions.
Couldn’t imagine any other breed for our family. We are so in love.Stephanie
News From Washington State
Hi Guys, just wanted to give a quick update on Reznor. Everything is going great & we are about to head out on another road trip down to Oregon & California to visit our Family.
There is a Seahawks 12 man flag, a “cascadia”/Doug fir flag, the 3 state flags act as his passport stamps for all of the states he’s visited & of course there is an OwyheeStar patch & his birthday patch so he can show off where he came from:)We get plenty of compliments on it & I think he is proud to walk around in itAll of the backwards “И”’s are a nod to my favorite band nine inch nails (NIИ) & artist Trent Reznor whom he is named after.Hope all is well with you & Cliff. Thanks, AnthonyOh and my wife’s fave patch

Hello from Pocatello, Idaho
~Did someone say TREAT!
Here is Dejah Thoris (Mesquite x Stackhouse) at 1 year 2mo…and 84 lbs! Her older sister by one year, Vizsla named Ayla, is 54 lbs. They eat the same amount of food but Ayla is an obsessive squirrel hunter who will focus on the task for hours while Dejah comes back in the house after 30 minutes to sit on the couch with me.We are loving our very big puppy!Lauralee & Chuck
~Lakes and Rivers we Swim
I wanted to send a quick follow up to your water work blog. Don’t be discouraged if your Weim prefers not to swim in the pool. Moxie Blu prefers to float in the pool rather than swim. She will swim a bit in the pool but it’s not the same as the lakes and rivers we often frequent. I remember seeing other blogs with Weims relaxing on pool floaties.
Thank you, Chrissy, for sharing these Moxie Blue Waterwork photos. Of course, we love her sitting atop the Flamingo. Who wouldn’t? Enjoying the pool, the lake, or whatever wherever you find it however you prefer is a good theme. There is no room for single-minded ideas. (Haha) Moxie shows us her classy style.
Of course, floating doesn’t expend much energy. (Haha) Regardless, what fun it is for her and her family. Thanks for the share. We truly appreciate it!
~ Hello Detroit
We made the move to Detroit, Michigan from California early in his life and he quickly adapted to snow and weather. In fact, he truly loves snow he can chase/catch snowballs for hours if we let him. When the summer heat gets the best of him, he jumps in the water and fetches anything we throw out there (a twig, a ball, etc). He is a strong and very graceful swimmer. Along with all his athletic abilities, he is a cuddler, and never quite adapted to crate life since he always wanted to be in bed with us. So we compromised and he now takes up the majority of our cal king bed, we don’t complain though. We are truly blown away by his sweet and gentle demeanor and could not ask for a better addition to our little family.

Can You Believe It?
~Last Saturday, she celebrated 11 Candles
Yesterday was Siena’s 11th birthday. Hard to believe. She shows little sign of slowing down except for a bit of arthritis at the base of her tail. We take great hope that we’ll have her around for a few more years because both of her parents, Storm, and Dusty, lived past their 13th birthday and Dusty is still around.Siena’s life changed three years ago when we left Whidbey and moved back to Seattle to be closer to our kids and health care providers. We were concerned about the change on Siena but she adjusted with hardly the blink of an eye. We still manage to walk at least 5 miles a day, around the neighborhood or at Green Lake or Woodland Park. As a result, Siena has become more social, well-known by many of the people along our walking treks.Siena’s adult weight, 55 pounds, has varied little and she is still getting yogurt and a probiotic as part of her morning meal. Her favorite treat is the pumpkin cookies that Connie bakes for her. Thanks for letting our beautiful girl become a part of our life. We wish we could have her for 11 more years but will cherish every single day that we have with her.
We got Jedi (Jed) from you almost two years ago now! I hope you see the pictures I post on Instagram and Facebook sometimes. He has really grown into a great dog for us. He is very protective, adventurous, and of course, is dedicated to his people. He goes to daycare about once a week so he gets a lot of socialization with other dogs and loves going out in the woods with dad on the weekends.
My parents are thinking about getting a Weimaraner puppy. I thought I would check to see if you still have puppies available this year? I will let my parents know to put in an application if they are serious. Thanks again. ~Katie
We send our congratulations on the nuptials. We love seeing Jedi (Jed) involved even if it was only a moment. There have been a few other couples over the years which involved their OwyheeStar Weimaraner/Weimaraners in the Wedding ceremony. We are always so amazed and blessed to know they are much-loved as well as an integral part of the family.
Availability–I should put this out there, now. Our Wait List is much shorter than is typical. Of course, we get inquiries all the time. The list can snowball and take on a life of its own. That being said–we expect Fall and Early Winter pups. We have more people on the list (at present) wanting the Silver Gray or Gray traditional coat Weimaraner. Also, of the ten listed, seven want a female. Therefore, those wanting a Blue or a Male are apt to get a puppy sometime between now and the end of the year if things go as planned.
A typical wait is about six months for the traditional smooth coat–a bit longer for the Longhairs. Occasionally, we will have a puppy not promised before they are born. Maybe no one on the list wants a pup that matches their sex, coat color, or their timeline. It happens. Not often, but every once in a while. It is not a significant concern. As I mentioned, we get inquiries all the time. Many of these are of the highest caliber, and a goodly percentage are via either repeat or direct referral.
We sincerely thank you for your recommendation as well as your loving care of Jedi. Having this update is lovely. Instagram is new to us. We recently started posting a few photos here and there of the pups on there. We keep an eye on Facebook; however, it is challenging to catch everyone’s post. Thanks again for this Email update. It is more helpful to me than you can imagine.
In The Woods
I just wanted to send this video of Berkley I shot the other day. She loves the woods.
Hope you are well. Thanks for all you do for so many! Berkley is never far from us–like now, she is snuggled up next to me. Here is a photo of her with our daughter, Nora. They make a cute pair, right?
