Oscar
Oscar continues to be a very healthy and fantastic dog. He is 10 years old now and still as playful as ever. He has had no health issues at all and I hope he lives for another 10 years.
Liana and I have been thinking a bit about getting a companion for him. We got Oscar when our previous weim was 10 and it seemed to work out good so I wanted to see if you were planning any new litters in the next little while. I am not sure how the logistics would work for getting a puppy across the border yet but I am sure we can figure all this out as we go. We would probably stick with a short hair male and are not stuck on colour.

We are happy to hear Oscar continues to be healthy and do well. Of course, we hope he lives to a ripe old age, but as with all living creatures–we never know how many days we get. Each one is precious–and there are never enough days to be had with our beloved Weimaraner. We look forward to working with you again.
Jagger
~Celebrates Eight Great Years

Jagger recently celebrated his 8th Birthday with me (October 8th, 2012). I just wanted to let you know that he is doing well. I know you were concerned about him coming out to the Canadian West Coast where we get all the rain. He has performed well in all weather conditions and still comes with me to the woods on field work days. He scares off the bears and the squirrels drive him crazy.
He is a very unique dog where I com from, still amazes me how many comments he gets for his looks and colour.

Thanks for remembering us with this update. We genuinely appreciate it. As for adapting to rain–some Weimaraners become oppositional about going outside in the rain, but not all. Others flop in mud puddles, jump in ponds, lakes, or even the ocean. It is always wise to acclimate them to the idea that rain happens–Haha
One of my favorite updates was Jagger’s photo and our blog in the background, where you said you watched the video of some of our pups. There have been so many lovely updates over the years–we cannot thank you enough.
Oh Henry
Congratulations on your New Title CW-SIAx2

To spare you all the craziness of all the acronyms, CWAGS, Canine Work and Games has scent detection division which Henry and I compete in. There are multiple levels that build upon each other. The higher the level the greater degree of difficulty of the hides. Henry has completed 24 successful runs in Level 3, Scent Investigator, to earn this pretty pink rosette. Officially, his title is CW-SIAx2!! Click Here to learn more about this organization.
I’m so lucky you snd Cliff care so much. When I tell people that I am still in touch with you they are shocked. You set a very high standard, which is rare, outstanding, and more than appreciated.

Henry and Patti — we are delighted with your great effort. Anyone who has participated in a venue understands how it costs you–time, energy, and cash. A title is not guaranteed, either. Congratulations on your scent work achievement. We know several OwyheeStar folks are considering getting involved. It is always good to share information, and a positive outcome is the icing on the post (or the cake). (Haha)
Also–we thank you for the great compliment. Yes–we try to stay connected to the folks that get a pup from us. We are quite honored that so many of you make this possible–plus, a lot of people are willing to give us an update. Where we post a blog 365 days a year, getting the updates to help, it is essential. We cannot begin to express how much it means in a few short words.
Dyson
~Let’s say he is much-loved

Dyson joined our family a few days ago and has settled in like he was born here!. He seems to know his name well already, comes when called and does his business in the outdoor kennel perfectly. He is quiet in his crate (a couple minutes whimper and that’s all) and only gets us up 1-2x a night. He plays hard and loves his toys (especially the duck!). He chases after and is wearing down our 8 yo weim with his persistence to notice him, and thus Leo has finally started to look at him and lay down within a 4-6 foot distance.
He’s a sweet sweet boy and we love him dearly.

Thank you, Mardo, for everything –including this lovely update. We truly appreciate it.
Our Penny
~A different Life now

Hey There–here we are with Penny (Polka Dot X Blue). I got her from you some time ago (about 8 years ago)–since then our life has changed a lot. We want to add another OwyheeStar to our family, but let’s update you first.
I am very excited also to share “Penny’s” (Pendleton Juno Kopeck’s) story with you. I initially got Penny (who we picked up in Pendleton when getting her hence the name) when I was single and now Penny has a whole family, a dad and 2 brothers age 1 and 3. We live on a cattle Ranch (my partners family is 5 generation cattle ranchers in British Columbia) so Penny really is loving the dream and thinks she is now a cow dog.
My partner (Clint) actually raises border collies and breeds them. We have 4 borders and Penny. Penny is the only real indoor dog of ours, except for when puppies come. We have had our challenges over the years but I think that’s owning a Weimaraner.. haha. She still is my snuggle bug and sleeps in bed, under the covers, at my feet every night…

It is great to connect with you again. Wow–there have been a lot of changes since we met nearly a decade ago. Thanks for sharing with us and returning for another OwyheeStar.
We look forward to the day we meet again, and you bring home your new family member.

In honor of Sunday shortness, let’s enjoy the moment’s success. We have been promised a detailed report/story. We could not wait to post this on the blog. Isn’t he adorable?
Featured Weimaraner — Oscar
Oscar Canyoneering
Oscar’s parents are avid rock climbers, and canyon explorers. This requires a nimble (and well-balanced) companion Weimaraner. Oscar is doing well.
