Fin
I wanted to give you an update on our wonderful addition, Afina (Fin). We chose her name Afina because it means blueberry (I thought of Juniper) However we call her Fin for short. The last three months have been lots of fun with her. She has had so many experiences already in a short amount of time.
Fin gets walks everyday to the beach or hills. She loves both! She has the instinct to point and sneak! It’s really amazing! She really is a sweet snuggler, but requires a good workout to get to that point. Ellen absolutely fell in love with her as soon as she laid eyes on her. The ride home went well, and it seemed like she adapted fast. She is so smart!!! Fin has a routine. She gets her breakfast from me every morning, then gets into bed with Ellen when I go to work. I’m not sure how long they get to snuggle but I get a few minutes on my days off.
Now that the days are getting longer we get better evening walks on the beach. She loves being able to run, run, run! I’ve taken her to a pleasant hunting club near Corvallis, and introduced her to a few birds. lol she kinda got scared at first, but then really zeroed in on their scent. We will be heading back there this fall after some training. Great news is she isn’t gun shy. It’s almost as if it’s in her blood or something… lolFin is growing so fast! She weighs 42# currently (and tall enough to reach the kitchen counters)!
She has lost a few teeth, and new ones are already coming in. One weird thing that happened was it seemed like possibly she started a heat cycle, but not sure. I noticed some blood for a couple of days but it went away. This happened just before her final visit for shots so I asked the vet about it. They said it’s not an issue unless it persists, which it didn’t. Fin is so happy and healthy. We just love her so much!
Thank You, Christine,, and Cliff so much for bringing her to us. and please give Juniper and Boone a big scratch for us and let them know their pup is happy and safe. She definitely is part of the family. Thanks again!

Thank you for being a loyal OwyheeStar client. We are so happy that ‘Fin’ has fit so aptly into the family and your life. What a life with her walks on the beach–I am envious.
