The Pack
Just a quick note to give you an update on our awesome pack of Idaho Owyheestar Weim’s!
Our Fuzzy (longhair) girl (Charlie Mae) has become the “princess” of the house and is our pride and joy best behaved and most sweet Weim. She and my Daughter (Elle) have become very close since Ace won’t stay in Elle’s room, she decided to see if Charlie would stay and sure enough, the two of them are now night buddies and Charlie sleeps with Elle EVERY night, it’s so sweet. Charlie is 8 now (as of Oct 2020) and still doing GREAT!
Ace (our longhair blue boy) is just over 2 now (as of Dec 2020) and has REALLY (finally) started to mellow some and become a very sweet boy. He reminded us of our friend Holly’s Maverik (from all her blog updates) in a big way!
I’m so happy to report that although he’s a ball crazy nut, we just LOVE him to pieces and he’s become a great companion for my wife at night since her dog (Charlie Mae) is in sleeping with Elle.
Ace marches to his own beat and knows what he wants and when he wants it, he isn’t easy to convince otherwise. Often at night he decides to sleep on the couch early in the night and join us in bed sometime in the early hours (I think he gets cold).

Mando (our newest addition, shorthair blue boy) is almost 1 (turns 1 in March 2021) was the SWEETEST puppy ever, but has for-SURE moved into the terrible teens! We have never had a more cat stalking Weim, he follows our poor old cat around the house relentlessly! He hasn’t ever hurt her, but the look in his eyes when the stalking is going on makes you wonder! If he does bite at her (mostly gentle), she holds her own, but it doesn’t curb his interest one bit.
Mando has gotten into digging holes and chewing up the grass in the dog yard also. He’s as mischievous a pup now as any we have had (and that’s saying something considering the benchmark Ace set!). As I recall, you warned us that he was going to be a handful, and as sweet as a little guy as he was, we thought perhaps he was going to prove you wrong, but NOPE, he’s exactly as you warned. Mando is all boy and he’s a daddy’s puppy for-sure. He always gets on the couch and flops on-top of me when it’s mellow time. He sleeps ALL NIGHT – EVERY NIGHT under the covers next to me. Recently I’ve decided to put him on a lead tied to me when around the house and remove some of his freedoms to curb some of his more destructive antics… His favorite naughty thing to do recently is to find something he knows he’s not supposed to have and take it out to the dog yard to destroy it (for us to find at some later date). Our dog yard isn’t in a spot that’s easy to bust him being naughty (and he knows it!). Having said all that, I couldn’t love the little dude more, he’s such a sweetie and I think we are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, he’s minding better as he gets older and is doing well on the lead.
There’s the quick (not so short) update on our pack! Thanks for all you do for us and our fur-babies!

The love of the Weimaraner brought us together, and we have known each other for a while. I must admit that our slogan “Where Beautiful Friendships Begin” is true, but we also market a bit of trouble. For all those who write us that they want a Weimaraner that will act a certain way, I caution that no one ever can be sure what quirk or quandary might arise. Surely these beautiful creatures will put their paw on a button and make you question your choice. (Haha) Thank you to this wonderful, loyal, fun, and Weim-loving family. We appreciate you taking the time to get something to us for our blog–and for the love, you pour into each four-legged family member.
