Mesquite

I have been teaching Mesquite something new, I can’t say she is delighted, but we are coming along.  I bought a ramp so she can get up on the bed and into the car easier.  She would still like to jump, but now that she is getting older, I don’t want her to break something.  At first she would have nothing to do with it.  I worked a little each day, until now she is beginning to accept it.  I guess she figured it wasn’t going away, so she might as well accept it.  Now she thinks it’s a game.

I ordered some Skate Board tape to give the surface a little more traction for her.  If she ever slipped she would be done with it.

She is really amazing, you give her a little time to decide what you want and she usually gets it done.

We take her out to the Vet on Wednesday to get a final series of X-Rays to check and see if she is cleared up.  Her cough is pretty much gone, she seems like she is getting back to full song. Sure hope so anyway?

Mesquite for a 10 year + old dog has got a lot of get up and go yet. She checks the tree rows every morning for cats at the church. For some reason she has claimed that territory and the cats don’t belong.I just wished there were a lot of game birds, like there use to be. We walk in the sagebrush and the only things we find are Meadow Larks or the like. She does show interest in them, they must have the right smell? She sure likes to go. She gets upset if I go someplace and don’t take her. When I get home she always goes up and smells the tires.

Breeder Comment

Mesquite is a lucky girl to have someone who cares so much about her–thank you for keeping us apprised and for all you do to give her such an excellent Golden Year Placement.
