Hello From OwyheeStar

Snow arrived late on Christmas Day–only skiff. It felt as if we didn’t have a white Christmas, but seriously a white Christmas doesn’t make it Christmas. Many areas never see snow–they still have Christmas. We live in a place where we often get snow for the holidays– love it. Predictions are for more snow to arrive in the next day or so. We hope for safe travels knowing that many are on the roads to see family despite COVID.
We have spoken to several people in our age bracket who are hunkered down. The reasons are many–but it seemed essential. No one is happy about making this choice. Christmas 2020 is unique in so many ways. Meanwhile, Boise State Football Coach has taken the helm at Auburn–their colors are also blue and orange. It was a chance of a lifetime–we wish Brian Harsin and his family all the best–thank him for what he gave to Boise State. He was clear in the announcement that he would still do anything he can to help Boise State and stated once a Bronco, always a Bronco. The university finds the need to search for a new Athletic Director and a new head football coach. There may be more significant changes ahead.

Finally, they picked up our hay a couple of days ago. So–that was excellent. Our small herd of deer continue to frequent our property–we love watching them. There are usually eight–every once in a while, one or more are not with the herd.
AT OWYHEESTAR
Atti’s pups are doing excellent, and Miss Atti is so engaged with them. We have had them outside some, and this week we will have them out in the elements more. It takes extra effort with winter weather–but it is equally essential to the process.
We thank everyone who updated us or remembered us with a photo of their OwyheeStar family member. Our hearts were warmed and filled with joy at seeing these posts and receiving the notes and your cards.
This Week On the Blog…
If you have a story that you will let me share–I need at least three sentences and a decent photo. I prefer to receive it via email. (FYI–we only use stories that feature the OwyheeStar Weimaraner).
We are always in need of OwyheeStar stories to share. It helps when I get an email even if you send photos via another mode. I know you enjoy reading about other OwyheeStar pups–especially those related to yours.

On a very personal note
Cliff is working on the second panty cupboard–my Christmas present. I got him a couple of small things–no gun this year, but not so long ago a couple of Jeeps, etc., so maybe he had an early Christmas. IDK We are simple with our gifts–there is no new car for birthdays, etc.
We mailed a few packages to the family (including some of the new biologicals)–three have not yet arrived. Two should come today, but Cousin Neil said the post office was a mess thanks to Trump has not yet gotten the parcel–it was one mailed early enough to arrive before Christmas. I guess the postal service heard him–Haha.
Cliff has been trying to get Christina’s Jeep fixed–I am not sure what the hold up is precisely, but it is never as simple as you think. And it is not like we don’t have the usual workload and other things breaking. The mere thought of it is overwhelming to me, who is challenged by the simple hose bib. (The truth)
Ambrosia is on a well-deserved break, but it needs to be short-lived. We still have a box of Fujis to freeze-dry. The greatest joy this Christmas was sharing with others — Pastor Doug was delighted, and a few others also blessed. We were not sure how everyone else would feel about Ambrosia’s goodies. This process retains more nutrients than traditional dehydrating–and with the candy, one-fourth of a piece of saltwater taffy poofs up the regular-sized jawbreaker candy–and the flavor pops (melts in your mouth). Cliff’s favorite freeze-dried candy is the tootsie rolls–they do not poof, though. They become like a delightful lozenge. Others favor the freeze-dry skittles, nougat, bit-o-honey, and caramel. Not every brand works equally well–some people also like gummy bears–we didn’t care for them.
