Hello From OwyheeStar
~Cliff, Shela, and the Weimaraners
August 22, 2020

The onion harvest continues — Bringing the dust filling the air along with the smoke from California and area fires which has filtered and settled in the valley. It makes for some beautiful sunsets, but the air quality is a killer. Farmers are also burning off some of their fields. (Whew–makes it hard to breathe). Let’s remember to pray for those who are being evacuated and the firefighter’s safety.
It won’t be long and our hay guy will be here to cut the alfalfa, again. With fields emptying all around us, the hayfield green is extra welcome.
AT OWYHEESTAR
The puppy exit is our focus–and Bernie’s last litter are joining their new forever families. It is a happy-sad moment. We love having Bernie pups, but she deserves to live out her life doing whatever we can offer. She is a favorite for Cliff to take hunting–so there is that in her future.
Jacob and Christina washed the pups, and one by one, the puppies got ready to make the big leap of faith to their new people (Haha) The reality is they don’t miss us but for a moment.
This Week On the Blog…

Thanks to our faithful OwyheeStar contributors–they make this all possible. We sincerely hope our readers enjoyed these updates as much as we did, too.
Once again, we find our supply of blog material running low again. If you can help, send me a note. It would be greatly appreciated.
If you have a story that you will let me share–I need at least three sentences and a decent photo. I prefer to receive it via email. (FYI–we only use stories that feature the OwyheeStar Weimaraner).

On a very personal note
The garden is doing great. While we were away on Thursday, Ashley and the girls dropped by to pick up some cucumbers and zucchini. Last year’s gardening girls went wild when they caught sight of the garden. (Haha) They are planning on returning one day this week for lunch and to pick the garden produce–we look forward to seeing them.

We were in Unity on Friday. As things worked out, we were able to visit a longtime friend (Patty). I joked when Cliff snapped this photo that we had not changed since grade school–of course, there has been quite a lot along the way to the here and now.
Funny thing–I was carrying around two coffee cups–I look like I am a caffeine addict.
I had plenty to smile about beyond the chat and coffee–Patty send us home with a bag of apples and some fresh eggs. What a blessing!
