Nixon

Update on our bestie, Nixon, now 6 months and a 70 pound lover. We took him for our first camping trip this year. First night in the tent was rough, as he barked at every single pinecone that had the audacity to hit our tent. He was willing to protect and serve his people throughout the night 😂 we quickly learned white noise was our friend and the rest of the trip went smoothly.
He enjoyed swimming in the river with the kids, playing frisbee, our hike to the falls and even took a dip in the freezing cold water and wanted to hike up the rocks with us! Such a good guide and always alerts us when he senses danger ahead. Even if it’s just a large weed or rock 🤣

This week we have begun picking blackberries in the woods. He loves that! Sniffs out every single area and waited for us ahead, would circle us and alert to whatever he thought was questionable…even a piece of carpet laying ahead lol! I love this boy. He has our heart and loves adventures and listens well! We ended last nights walk with a deer ahead he decided to chase! I called him back and just as began to really worry he returned quickly at my calls. Good boy Nix, good boy.

Nixon loves being a part of your adventures–might we say he makes them more fun. At least, for the most part. The unexpected might cause a short-lived alarm, but he moves on quickly. Good for you–what a life you have together. Thank you–for everything, and especially for thinking of us.
The fear of losing him as he gave chase to a deer is very real. Unfortunately, we have many stories of this sort. You might want to consider investing in a GPS tracking collar for Nixon to wear on these outdoor adventure trips. Also, this is for your own peace of mind as well Nixon’s well-being.
