The Old Girl

Mesquite is going on ten years old and she is still quite spry. I purchased two beds for her, one for her house, and the other for the living room floor. The beds are 7 inches thick and give her a lot of support. In fact she is sound to sleep on her bed right now, at the foot of my chair.
I took her pheasant hunting about six weeks ago, we were out about four hours, and she didn’t quit ounce. The cover was getting laid over and birds just wanted to run, very frustrating for an inexperienced dog. She kept after them, and we ended up with two at the end of the day. Mesquite had a fun day, didn’t hear a peep out of her on the way home, lots of snoring. Not like on the way up, the singing really starts when you turn on to a gravel road. Amazing how they figure that out. Lyle
