Not Long ago Cliff and Jackson

Hello February–some say January drug on forever. I heard them talking about it, but for me, it flew by so quickly. We packed a lot of living in the month, so I don’t think we wasted our time or anything.

The greenhouse is calling–this year’s garden will be only Cliff and I. The gardening girls will not be coming–because little baby Jackson arrived and their lives are ever so busy.

AT OWYHEESTAR

We have another litter of Longhairs–so if you are thinking about one–now would be a good time. This litter is a repeat mating that produced Bart (Atti X Stackhouse).

We have lists of things that need to be done–we need to update our chart as well as our record book. We are old-fashioned. We like some records on paper as well as a visible chart. Also, there have been inquiries and a plethora of email–it seems to keep me engaged with all things OwyheeStar.

This Week On the Blog…

Magical Lily

As always, thanks to our faithful OwyheeStar contributors–they make this all possible. (Haha) We sincerely hope our readers enjoyed these updates as much as we did, too. We hope everyone took the time to read Friday’s Blog–because it has invaluable information. If you have not yet read it, plus do.

If you have a story that you will let me share–I need at least three sentences and a decent photo. I prefer to receive it via email. (FYI–we only use stories that feature the OwyheeStar Weimaraner).

Sunday— January 26 — Out of the Hospital

Monday–-January 27— About Luna

Tuesday – January 28 — Tango

Wednesday January 29 — Sleeping With

Thursday –- January 30 —  Stone

Friday — January 31 — Lily’s Mom

On a very personal note

Cliff improves a bit every day. My situation started more than five years ago, but I keep improving each day–at a snail’s pace. Cliff is rebounding much more quickly–he is doing excellent. We stay busy with family and sometimes with friends. We don’t have many opportunities for the latter of the two–but we make every effort.

Both boy grandsons (Brad and Nick) are still playing basketball. Brad’s varsity season is about to come to a screeching halt. Nick’s season is just gearing up–we had two games this week, and there are a couple on the horizon. Brad’s team travels to MacHi next Saturday, and after that, I am not sure what is left. Will there be tournament games? I don’t know for sure.

I forced some tulips for January blooms. I am not so happy with the bulbs we got–flowers are smaller than expected, but the blooms are delightful anyhow. Of course, the ever-blooming Cyclamen that my friend Ellen gave me in 2012 makes me smile every day. I purchased a fern–and despite my best efforts it is smallish–I have come to realize this is some kind of miniature fern–I wanted a large Boston Fern. (OMG) It is cute but not quite what I imagined.

We happened to drop in a couple of stores recently–me, I went into Hobby Lobby. As I walked in, I was shocked at the Flamingos. They were everywhere I went. So, I am guessing it is the year of the Flamingo. (Haha) I also got my hair trimmed–at the Boots to Roots Salon in Vale, Oregon. Becki is the best–the country salon offers top quality service with a personal touch you cannot get in most salons. There is no way to put into words what it means to me and others.

Waiting for the Kiln

I am back at the Ceramics –making a few things. Not quite as many as I would like–but something is better than nothing. (OMG) Vicki picked up some clay she thought would be the right choice for me–where I am doing both hand-building and working on the wheel. I am the only one with pink clay–no, it is not terra cotta if you wondered. I laughed because I feel as if I need to be extra careful with clean up. Any smidgen can be traced back to me–but I am already that way, so it is not a big deal.
