Hello From OwyheeStar

Sunrise October 21 2017

Last week it snowed, and it cooled down a bit. Then came a bit of a warming trend which in turn lead to rain. We have spring-like weather. I expect things to begin to green up soon. I hear people complaining about the cold, and I immediately remember the January’s, which brought a couple of weeks of sub-zero temperatures. This 2020 January weather could be considered a heatwave by comparison. (Haha)

I will be thinking about the garden–making a plan. Seeds will have to be ordered or bought locally. I will start our plants in the greenhouse. I cannot believe I am thinking about this already, but that is what the more temperate weather leads me to. But with the warming trend, we expect rain, or even possibly a bit of wet melting snow. I suggest people stay on the road–off-road might not be smart. You can see some local driver thought they would take a farm road and it didn’t end well–they are caught with a tire in the ditch–made a big mess. Did you notice the Keep Out Sign?

We have a lot of different projects in the works. Christina and I have a board to update, and our record book is also having a makeover. (OMG) We also have young Weims that need work –various kinds of work. They need to see birds and learn manners–that kind of thing.

There is always a lot going on–repairs, email, inquiries, and more. This week a long-time Weimaraner client that got another puppy from us ran into an issue–you can read about that on Friday’s Blog.

This Week On the Blog…

As always, thanks to our faithful OwyheeStar contributors–they make this all possible. (Haha) We sincerely hope our readers enjoyed these updates as much as we did, too. We hope everyone took the time to read Friday’s Blog–because it has invaluable information. If you have not yet read it, plus do.

If you have a story that you will let me share–I need at least three sentences and a decent photo. I prefer to receive it via email. (FYI–we only use stories that feature the OwyheeStar Weimaraner).

On a very personal note

Cliff had a follow-up Endoscopy this week, and then a follow-up with our Primary Care Physician. We are happy to report that he has rebounded from the incident that sent us to the emergency room several times and that all ended in hospitalization. (Hurrah–for the positive news.) A change in his medication protocol is going to help him more–they have given him the go-ahead to use the NSAIDs. He truly does better with them.

Both Brad and Nick (#44 featured in the above video) are playing basketball. Nick plays for the 8th Grade A-Team, where he is a standout. Of course, that is his Gran and Grandpa saying that. But the boys have won both games this week–Homedale and Fruitland. That demonstrates their excellent teamwork. Brad’s Varsity team is struggling–they lost their senior point guard to a season-ending injury. Overall the boys have made a great deal of improvement, but they have lost all three conference games–shucks. We are to nearly every game supporting them when possible–but we can only travel so far.

I finally made it back to the Art Department yesterday. I got one piece made, and I hope it turns out as lovely as it looks like it might. Well–maybe it seems a bit ugly, but the glaze will make it. (Haha) Nonetheless, I happy to have created something. (Hurrah!)
