GREETINGS FROM FAR EASTERN OREGON
~September 21, 2019

The Treasure Valley (and the Boise area) are abuzz with Boise State’s win (30-19) over Air Force. It was a hard-fought game in the trenches as we expected. In the end, Boise found a way to get the win. Bachmeier was once again phenomenal while under duress–there were still way too many hits on the quarterback. The success was extraordinary on so many levels–Air Force defeated Pac 12 Colorado on their home turf the week before. They are the only team to beat Boise State three times during the Bryan Harsin era. Let me say–it has become a rivalry type situation.

This alfalfa has been waving at me through the window and is a favorite sight. Soon it will be cut and find its way into the stack–but for now, it is extra lovely.
Everywhere we drive the farmers have their fields worked up and ready for spring. (OMG) The harvest is still happening alongside the worked up areas, too. Onions and sugar beet and some beans remain–then there is field corn. It won’t be long, and we will be winter-ready. Monday Autumn begins–but that fall weather that we love has already arrived.
AT OWYHEESTAR

Hattee’s pups continue to grow and thrive. As you can see, their eyes are open–sporting the lovely blue puppy eyes for which the Weimaraner is famous. Other than caring for the pups –it is the typical Weim care thing.
We are preparing to get the pups on lawn come the first of the week. We need to clean up the outdoor area–and secure the gate with extra fencing. They will not spend much time out there yet–but soon they will love being outside more than inside. For now, we look at getting them acclimated to the feel of grass as well as the cooler temperatures. So far, their life has been extremely sheltered. (Haha)

On a very personal note

Our week seemed fairly uneventful. Well, that is not necessarily a bad thing, right!?!
The Gardening Girls were missing–we didn’t hear from them. I suppose the rainy weather meant they didn’t want to come–I get it. I am dreading the garden cleanup, but it is essential. A part of what must happen. (OMG)
~At The Old Farmhouse
Cliff is still working on the Master Bath’s tile–the floor. I thought he was nearly done with the floor, but he alerted me that there is another entire section to tackle. He will get it done–in bits and pieces.

Meanwhile, the cyclamen continues to delight me with blossoms. It feeds my soul with the loveliness more than any expectation I could have harbored.
As I said, it was reasonably uneventful around here–just more of this and that. You understand. It is the same for everyone, I think.
