Revelry
~My Blue Longhair Girl

Today (5/15/2019) Revelry Blue (Stackhouse x Zula Blue) turns 1! What a journey the last 10 months have been. Revelry is smart, cheeky, and full of spunk. She comes to work with me almost every day and has been a fantastic demo dog, always eager to help all the young puppies in class learn how to be the best they can be. She is a real dog’s dog, especially fond of the little ones (probably because she’s been raised with 2 little older Dachshund sisters). She is by far the calmest Weimaraner I’ve ever known and apart from a hole-digging phase, amazingly hasn’t been destructive at all.

There have been downs with all the ups as well. Revelry, while calm, has also been dealing with anxiety, spooking a lot at strange or new things. Small children have been our biggest foe. They are tiny and move weirdly, and Revelry finds them to be most alarming. That said, we have come a very long way already and are continually working hard to desensitize her to all potential scary things, large, small, and loud!
Revelry is set to take her Canine Good Citizen test next month and I am 100% certain she is going to pass! She has been such an easy dog to train and I can tell that she truly enjoys learning. People are constantly commenting on both her incredible beauty and wonderful manners. This girl occasionally tests me, but she also makes me so proud every single day. I love her to the moon.
Thank you for all that you do, but mostly for allowing me to be this sweet girl’s mom.
All our best,
Emily and Revelry

Dear Emily–thank you for taking the time to write to us about your first year with Revelry. She has every advantage with you being a dog trainer–I am sure you have everything managed.

I love seeing pictures of Zula Blue’s offspring. ZooBoo is a feisty girl that can put Pushkin in his place even though he outweighs her by at least 20 pounds.
We have been fortunate to hear from some of these folks recently. Zula Blue is a sweet girl (as girls go)–but in general, they (the girls) tend to rule the roost. They are not going to allow another to have control in almost every case. Females like to be the Queen Bee–and typically males will roll over and let them have it their way too! (Haha) Regardless, there are variances and exceptions.
