Steadying Force

Alerting Us

I have always known Weims were smart, but I think Porsche got an extra
dose.  We tired of her imitation of the Hound of the Baskervilles
whenever she heard a leaf fall or other noise.  As we explained this to
her, she began to quietly alert us to our cell phones, the stove timer,
microwave and dryer, by getting up and going to the source of the sound
and sitting there.  A cookie each time helped reliability.  Still, we
were astounded by her ingenuity.

The Tail

As you know, I have always had shorthair/short tailed Weimaraners, so I am fascinated with Porsche’s longfluffy tail. I started petting it as one might do with a cat.  Soon, shewas allowing me to use her and her tail as a balancing aid throughout
the house.  The picture attached is the best one we could get, because
the photographer was my daughter and Porsche wanted to play with her
rather than performing.

Performances

Speaking of performing, Porsche and herhousemate, Pennie, have a Laurel and Hardy routine of going in and outand on top of each others crates, which they do only if I am in ahurry.  It is so hard to keep from laughing.
