Alerting UsI have always known Weims were smart, but I think Porsche got an extradose. We tired of her imitation of the Hound of the Baskervilleswhenever she heard a leaf fall or other noise. As we explained this toher, she began to quietly alert us to our cell phones, the stove timer, microwave and dryer, by getting up and going to the source of the soundand sitting there. A cookie each time helped reliability. Still, wewere astounded by her ingenuity.
The TailAs you know, I have always had shorthair/short tailed Weimaraners, so I am fascinated with Porsche’s longfluffy tail. I started petting it as one might do with a cat. Soon, shewas allowing me to use her and her tail as a balancing aid throughoutthe house. The picture attached is the best one we could get, becausethe photographer was my daughter and Porsche wanted to play with herrather than performing.
PerformancesSpeaking of performing, Porsche and herhousemate, Pennie, have a Laurel and Hardy routine of going in and outand on top of each others crates, which they do only if I am in ahurry. It is so hard to keep from laughing.
