To Grammy’s Garden We Go
Goldee’s note about her Grammy’s Garden adventure!!
Every week we load up into the back of the Subaru and go to our most favorite place in the world, Grammy’s acre. There’s a routine, dad does a five point turn to back into the driveway, we bark and make all kinds of ruckus, the Grammy’s open the drive way and swiftly get out of the way while mom opens the back hatch and we ZOOM out of the car and into the backyard.
The first stop is always the fresh kiddie pools that are poured just for us to splash and enjoy. Next up laps around the acre, make sure everything is still in place and try to spy all of the new garden trinkets the Grammys have added. And then it’s time for fetch. Mom and Dad know the drill, each armed with a Chuck It and Maverick and Autzen go back and forth around the acre chasing their balls. I prefer to stick to my heritage and hunt all of the small critters that are taunting me from the fence line and the chickens – oh the chickens!!! But we will leave that for another day, because today I want to tell you all about the delicious fresh veggies my Grammys have planted just for us!
Our Barrels Filled to the Brim
We each have our own half wine barrels planted to the brim with our favorite veggies, carrots!! But that doesn’t stop us from helping ourselves to the fresh beans growing on the fence line or Maverick jumping into the small veggie garden to help himself.
Emma’s Apple Tree
The Acre is also home to Emma’s Apple tree, Emma’s the girl that brought me into my mom and dad’s life. Now I get to enjoy the apples Emma once spent her summers eating-that really makes my mom happy!
Exhausted We Head For Home
After a few hours of playing and getting to enjoy our fresh fruits and veggies we say our good byes, get leashed up and wait for mom and dad to help us into the car – it’s a big jump after such an exhausting afternoon.
Snitching Tomatoes From My Other Grammy
(This ones from our other Grammy, I helped myself to about four tomatoes before dad hide the planter inside her craft room!!)I hope all of my Weim friends siblings and half siblings get the same royal, fresh treatment at their Grammy’s as we get at ours!
