OwyheeStar Week Twenty-Five 2016
Greetings From Far Eastern Oregon
The corn is growing as predicted. Last evening we went into town to gas the Jeep–Cliff is on the road this morning. We love to watch the corn grow. I suppose that is an old person thing. (Yes, we realize that it is politically incorrect to say old person.) Or maybe it is more aptly considered a farmer’s pastime. (Chuckle) It would have been fun to photograph each week’s growth, but it is not as easy as when it is planted across the road. We are always found to be in a hurry. So, we didn’t want to stop. Nevertheless, stopping along the road is not all that safe–the back road to Nyssa is busier than a person might think. (Speaking of the local crops), our hay is looking better–greening up after the first cutting. Even though it is not of great value, we need it to produce something. We can hope and pray can we not?
We had three summer Longhair pups born and they leave today. As you might guess, people are anxiously awaiting their arrival. We are hoping one or two will make Jan’s future class and work with her (as well as Willow and Juniper). Who can guess what will happen? They are all off to a great start and their arrival will be celebrated in style. What great people we meet along the way.
This Week on the Blog
Here are the week’s posts if you wish you review or visit them today! Please note that Thursday’s Blog is one part of a two-part series. More information will be posted this week on how to keep your Weimaraner safe, and how to prepare for the 4th of July Holiday. You probably noticed a bit of a theme earlier in the week–Raein, Shiny, and Beorn all live a considerable distance from OwyheeStar–Shiny lived in Colorado all along; however, Raein and Beorn recently made a big move East.
Monday — June 13 — Maybe You Heard (Raein Moved)
Tuesday — June 14 — Colorado Boy
Wednesday — June 15 — Moved to North Carolina
Thursday — June 16 — Coming Soon (Kaboom–and preparing for the noise factor)
OwyheeStar blog. It is the only daily blog. There is a somewhat different blog located on our Primary Website–www.OwyheeStar.com. We are doing a once a month product review for www.Chewy.com. Our product for May found favor with Dusty–click here to read more about the Bayou Biscuits.
On a very personal note
We have been busy. When is it not so? Who isn’t anyhow? If a person finds a bit of time, they pack it with activities for the most part. I think the Good Lord knew what he was doing when he limited our day to 24 hours and the need to get some sleep. We seriously would forget to sleep if it were possible.
We are trying to get back on track. Once we had moved in the spring pups arrived. It left us scrambling to get things set up for the first Farmhouse whelp, and all that followed. We had to create fenced areas for the pups to be safe when outside. We are happy to report that all came together nicely. Now that the spring pups are gone, we need to purchase some sod and fill in a few bad pieces of the lawn. We will also adjust the fencing a bit. Regardless, we are happy with the outcome. It all worked well.
We are looking toward the parking area–it needs some serious work. Eventually, we hope to pour a pad to park on for now–set up for a future garage. That will be wonderful. The first winter is going to be without the garage. At least, that is how it seems at the moment. There are many more pressing things that require attention, time, and money.
(Note–thank you to all of you who continue to send us updates. There is a lot to be learned from other Weimlovers; it puts a smile on our faces too!)
There is no way we could ever thank you enough for your love and support. We are immensely grateful for those who continually provide us with the material for the blog. Unfortunately, sometimes this is only photos and no script. There is no end in sight of our farmhouse remodel. We are doing it ourselves, and it is the installment plan–we are not borrowing to do this. We buy something and install it. Therefore, having the updates is greatly appreciated than usual–it is always a blessing!
