OwyheeStar Week Twenty-Three 2016

Greetings From Far Eastern Oregon

Hay9Our hay is baled and in the stack. That is American in my journal; however, nothing is more American than celebrating our freedom. Beyond that, the most important celebration is Memorial Day. A lot of folks don’t understand what this recent holiday meant; nor do they comprehend the price tag. It is a sad state of affairs to realize that we devalue the real meaning of these holidays. They once stood for something great. It was discussed at the dinner table and often with a deep sigh by the person sharing. All because they had the firsthand memory. Although Memorial Day 2016 is over, all it should be forever forefront in our mind, heart, and our spirit. Being thankful and patriotic is not something I want to put aside or see sitting on the shelf–at our home or yours. Thank you, for considering the importance of that thought a week after the celebration has ended.

4_Mousse X Stack Playtime9 0.jpgEveryone I know agrees on this one thing. They would rather not think about the cost of freedom. Instead, they would like to enjoy the privilege. I don’t have a problem with that for the most part. Honestly, I prefer puppy kisses to blood and guts. It is hard to hear about the ongoing suffering some of our heroes faces. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those suffering. It is our sincere wish that they know the love of family, friends, and a loyal fur friend. May they overcome the inner attack that often continues long after they are on American soil–the same ordeal that takes these heroes away from us (on one level or other) all too frequently.

On a very personal note

We have faced some interesting things this week. I guess our life doesn’t give the opportunity for us to become bored. Stackhouse patted my face a little too firm –a love pat, but I have a red eye. It appears a blood vessel broke. I finally got concerned enough to get it checked out. It was nothing, so I now feel totally silly. It looks ugly, though.

7_Mousse X Stack Playtime5.jpgOur washing machine sprung a leak, and Cliff had to come up with a fix. He is amazing! He got us back up and running. Thank goodness! We are busy with the puppy exit for the Mousse X Stackhouse litter. It has been a fun but demanding week.

As Always

(Note–thank you to all of you who continue to send us updates. There is a lot to be learned from other Weimlovers; it puts a smile on our faces too!)

There is no way we could ever thank you enough for your love and support. We are immensely grateful for those who continually provide us with the material for the blog. Unfortunately, sometimes this is only photos and no script. There is no end in sight of our farmhouse remodel. We are doing it ourselves, and it is the installment plan–we are not borrowing to do this. We buy something and install it. Therefore, having the updates is greatly appreciated than usual–it is always a blessing!

  1. I’m glad the washeing machine is fixed… hugs to your Cliff :o) I’ve got such a “witch eye” too a couple of months ago, it was weird to become the “point of interest” that way :o)
