OwyheeStar Week Ten 2016

Greetings From Far Eastern Oregon

There are few things better in life than time. We spent a week’s time doing a lot of varied things. 12802910_10207573992965979_8406013576954677946_nThere were walks and feeding. Clean up and other typical things. I asked myself what was extraordinary about this week? Then it hit me.
Your generosity towards us. I have been pocketing roughed-in blogs. Why and how can I do that? It is because people have sent us fabulous updates. We love to be remembered. We understand your life is equally crazy. When you stop and email us a story, news, and photos we know it takes dedicated effort. Here is a snapshot of Kirby G’s birthday. It is a sneak peak. Look at those great packages lined up. What about the birthday candles? This guy is living the good life. He is not hunting birds, but he has a job. It is this kind of thing that warms our heart and cheers us on. Also, this week we noticed someone we have not heard from for years posted an endorsement on Facebook.

5star Outstanding breeders!! My girl will be 10 this year and she still runs like she’s 3! Great quality Weimaraner puppies! Couldn’t have asked for better! Thank you Shela & Cliff!

Our work is one of passion. We do this for people like you. Of course, we get more inquiries than it is possible to accommodate. We are looking for the cream of the crop. You are the best of the best!

On a very personal note

A Storage AreaOur focus is the same. We have to get moved. What a lot it is to move us too! Consider the fact that we have lived here 46 years plus. Then remember we cared for more than 500 at-risk youth during a twenty-year period. There has been a lot of things happen in this house, and since I (Shela) was an only child, I inherited world possession all from my parents. They were not wealthy but as with all humans they had the stuff of life. Cliff has lived and worked adjacent to his parent’s farm all his life. His sister lives a very modest life and is not interested in the ninety-year plus accumulation on the farm. Therefore, it is all in our possession. Sometimes I want to blow off all this stuff. It kind of enslaves you. Then I think what it would be like to lose everything in one swoop like the Helleker family did when a group of disgruntled students set the principal’s house on fire.

We are indeed fortunate albeit true we are a bit overwhelmed. Regardless, we are making progress. Cliff and Deven had begun removing the fencing and whatnot outside. The refurbished pine cabinets are awaiting me to install the shelves. Then they need the doors installed. If nothing else, they will be ready for use when we arrive at the new nest. The three storage closets are all full. Imagine that?!? The paneling for the whelp rooms is busy acclimating so it can be installed. As you see, we are moving forward.

As Always

(Note–thank you to all of you who continue to send us updates. There is a lot to be learned from other Weimlovers; it puts a smile on our faces too!)

There is no way we could ever thank you enough for your love and support. We are especially grateful for those who continually provide us with the material for the blog. Unfortunately, sometimes this is only photos and no script. There is no end in sight of our farmhouse remodel. We are doing it ourselves, and it is the installment plan–we are not borrowing to do this. We buy something and install it. Therefore, having the updates is greatly appreciated than usual–it is always a blessing! DSC_0134edit

  1. It sounds great for a moment to start completely new, but sadly a lot of things we lost we can’t buy new…it wouldn’t be the same :o( I was shocked that this students set the house of their principal on fire… for being suspended… that’s scary and weird to plan such a mean thing…
Happy Barkday to Kirby G I hope there are wonderful things in that bags :o)
