This Week at OwyheeStar
Greetings From Far Eastern Oregon
November has treated us well. We are not saying goodbye just yet, but come Monday it will be a thing with us. Then there is no holding back. Christmas and all that comes with it will follow on it’s heels. We all know it has made an appearance in the stores, on Facebook as well as more than hints having been whispered among good friends. Then there are those who have been shouting out the number of days until Christmas like a five-year-old who cannot wait for Santa’s arrival.
We suppose that Holly and Goldee are among the great crowd gathering around to root the celebration forward. Without a doubt, they have plotted and planned gala affairs of the best kind. Not the least of these to be pet photograph sessions with Santa and other props. Indeed, we consider Holly, the cheerleader of these events. Goldee is the somewhat willing participant; she is photogenic don’t you agree? Both of these photos are compliments of Terri Jacobson Pet Photography. In light of these pictures, we might add that Goldee is tolerant of add-ons, braiding, and whatnot too!
November has turned a cold shoulder of late. It seems to be reminding us that winter can be brutally cold. While we shiver at 20 degrees, others not so far from here have dropped to minus temps. Wood stoves, pellet stoves, and every heating device available are working full time to keep us from freezing. I dreamed of dabbing some paint on the exterior of our farmhouse remodel–we have a few locations that scream for siding fixes. This dream was less than two weeks ago; however, with the temps dropping it is out of the question. Exterior paint is going to wait until a better time–most likely spring or summer. On a positive note, the Weims are not as interested in staying out so long. Therefore, I did not spend quite as much time accommodating their individual taste.
This Week on the Blog
This week (again) had so many great posts. If you missed them or want to revisit the posts, here are the links.
Sunday— November 22 — Ilsa
Monday — November 23 — Puppy Attack
Tuesday — November 24 — Luna Speaks
Wednesday — November 25 — Bella Blue
Thursday — November 26 —Kirby G
Friday — November 27 — Schultz
On a very personal note
The farmhouse remodel continues to take shape. It also prefers to keep us waiting longer than we wish. Regardless, we have turned a corner. There is much awaiting the finish; however, promise and a hopeful attitude are predominant. Healthwise we are doing well. The Gluten-free Thanksgiving choices were more than enough. They were surprisingly delicious. We hope you felt loved, appreciated, and enjoyed the holiday.
(Note–thank you to all of you who made sure I had enough material to make some fascinating and fun updates this week. I have exhausted the supply; however, several of you said you would send something along shortly. I have a few thoughts to work on as well. )
There is no way we could ever thank you enough for your love and support. We are especially grateful for those who continually provide us with the material for the blog. Unfortunately, sometimes this is only photos and no script. There is no end in sight of our farmhouse remodel. We are doing it ourselves, and it is the installment plan–we are not borrowing to do this. We buy something and install it. Therefore, having the updates is even more appreciated than usual–it is always a blessing!
