This Week at OwyheeStar

 Greetings From Far Eastern Oregon

Wet fall weather has arrived. Along with that pumpkin carving and pumpkin season. We bake them, carve them and feed them to our Weimaraner. If you don’t know, this (plain pumpkin from a can or fresh) is a good thing to feed your fur family member. If they have loose stool (not formed or even diarrhea), pumpkin is considered a natural cure. It makes a great snack. Roast a pumpkin shell and carve into slices and freeze. Most Weims love this!

This Week on the Blog

This week (again) had so many great posts. If you missed them or want to revisit the posts, here are the links.

Sunday— October 25— First Snow

Monday — October 26 — Adventures with Tripp

Tuesday — October 27– Luna Quirks

Wednesday — October 28 — Bennett

Thursday  — October 29— Olli

Friday  — October 30— Maggie

On a very personal note

The focus is still on the packing and sorting of forty-five plus years of accumulation. Cliff is working on the remodel and making significant progress. It takes ever second he can carve out of our schedule. We were hoping to be move ready by the first of November, but the date keeps getting pushed back. It would be hard to believe we would not be in by December no matter the status.

I saw the Lymphedema, massage specialist. He understands I am working harder than I am supposed to; however, I am doing well. There is an accumulation of fluid from the wrist to the elbow. He worked on it and it loosened, but it is an ongoing battle. I try to limit the time spent on the keyboard and doing heavy work. Both of those are difficult to avoid. The encouraging news is that I am doing better than most of the other clients with a similar problem. We are trying a bit different approach due to the demands of my lifestyle. It seems to be working. He and a nurse are keeping notes I think. They both know the compliance factor has been lower than I would like to give. Nevertheless, I am doing what is possible. No one can ask more. I am indeed fortunate.

As Always

(Note–this is another repeat, but a special thanks to all you who read it and came through for us.) I still have some material left unused. I will make every attempt to use all of them, and before long I know we will run out. :O) That is what always happens.

There is no way we could ever thank you enough for your love and support. That being said, we are especially grateful for those who continually provide us with the material for the blog. Unfortunately, sometimes this is only photos and no script. It is tough to write the script for photos. Other times it is only a note and no pictures. If we can quickly find some photos, this is not a huge problem. If there is any way possible, it is most helpful to get both–at least three sentences along with the photos. Being stretched thin on every side means we are in desperate to keep enough material available to create the daily blog with minimal effort. Sometimes having to write the whole blog (with all the OwyheeStar Weim interruptions) can mean working it more than two hours–so as you see what you send is so important.  Thank you for your love and support. Keep the puppy updates coming–we need the updates. DSC_0134edit

  1. I hope there is a way what helps your arm to heal… I just checked out the voice command on my laptop, they say cortana will work, but it was not what I expected… to tell the truth, it was bullsh… :o( I’ve tried to surprise Easy with some pumpkin puree, he ate his food around the puree and walked away :o) If Halloween has a Grinch like Christmas, then his name is Easy :o) Happy Howl-o-ween :o)

    • Are the Weims not clever? It never ceases to amaze me how they can clean ever morsel of what they want from the dish and leave what they consider is garbage. LOL
