The OwyheeStar Blog
How it Began
The oldest retained blog post dates back to March 2009. It began quite some time before then; however, in the early years Shela dumped the older blogs to make room for new posts. They believe the first post happened sometime in 2007. Initially, they thought a random post would happen twice a month–possibly once a month. They were not sure if anyone would want to read their thoughts, or if there would be enough material to sustain the blog. Eight years later, they are still publishing the blog. It has been a daily affair since shortly after the inception.
The Weimaraner infatuation took root in Cliff’s childhood experience. The first Weimaraner arrived at the Nielsen farm in the 50’s; it was a gift from Uncle Clifton who was breeding them near Othello in Washington State. In the breed’s typical manner, the Weimaraner (called Doc) left it’s indelible paw prints on Cliff’s heart never to be forgotten. Like so many fanciers who find they infected with the Weimar-bug; Cliff and Shela cannot get enough.
The blog has taken on a life of its own. The OwyheeStar clients are invested in helping Cliff and Shela Nielsen share what they consider is the good news. Their notes filled with accounts and firsthand experiences are of interest to many subscribers. They live vicariously through these stories. Sometimes they relate all too much to the craziness associated with the Weim.
Cliff and Shela have written many educational blogs. Their intention is to help people succeed. Ultimately, their target audience comprises the OwyheeStar extended family. There are limits to what the Nielsen’s can offer. Unfortunately, they cannot problem solve for other than the OwyheeStar clients. Nevertheless, the general posts have many useful suggestions. It is possible to search for a topic, and there are categories listed in the right-hand column.
The OwyheeStar connection ties you a vast community of fans and like-minded folks. Your comments are welcome. You can reply to someone else’s comment too!. There are some regular contributors. You know who you are, and how often you comment. Thank you!
Cliff and Shela hope the blog is entertaining, educational, and inspiring. They are constantly amazed by the interested fans and the number of subscribers. They hope you check out the pages located at the top of this blog. You can also visit their website www.owyheestar.com.
