This Week at OwyheeStar

Greetings From OwyheeStar

OwyheeStar Zula Blue Stackhouse 2015 Litter Swim-12We are socked in with smoke. It is like a fog; however, this carries the evidence of the fires burning on every side. First, there is an essence of smoke in the air. Secondly, the air quality is not so good. It makes for beautiful sunsets and sunrises; however, it is not healthy in any other way. The temperature is cooler than usual this morning, and there is a slight breeze. There is news of evacuations near Ironside (west of us) that took place last evening. People were fleeing with their cats, dogs, and horses. We heard the Soda Spring Fire (burning in the Owyhee area of Idaho) is the second largest fire in the US. Countless men and women are putting their lives on the line, and others are supporting the efforts. We pray for their safety and that they can these fires under control.

On the homefront, our hay is nearing another cutting. We hope it is plentiful, and it misses the storms that are sure to be coming our direction soon. We should get another cutting before the farming comes to a halt.

This Week on the Blog

We are once again thankful for the updates that make this possible! We are a bit thin on the material we need to work with, but there was enough.

Sunday— August 9 — Happy Anniversary Cliff and Shela

Monday — August 10 — Charlie Favorites

Tuesday — August 11 – Burnside

Wednesday — August 11— Did You Say Coffee??

Thursday  — August 12—Road Trippers

Friday  — August 13—Puppy Swimming

On a very personal note

We have been in the thick of puppy stuff. Exits are happening, and our attention has been there. Not much has happened this week on our remodel. Cliff has been trying to do a few of the smaller things as time permits. My Lymphedema is doing better. That is a touch-and-go situation. I need to be very careful about how much work I do. It is amazing how much I used my left arm. A person doesn’t realize it until they are limited. There are some hard lumps in the left forearm that seem to be frustrated and angry. The good news is they have gone down in size. That pretty much sums up what is going on this week.

As Always

Thank you for your love and support. Keep the puppy updates coming–as I said above, I am running low on material. I need them for inspiration, and they brighten our day. Yes, and allow us to have something to share.

  1. It’s great to hear the the pains take a break… I hope they go away finally soon. I feel so sorry for he people nd pets in te fire zone… and I cross my paws for the wildlife…I hope so much that the firefighter will win this battle… do you know what caused the fire? or is it just happened?

    • I would guess there might be as many as fifty fires — some small, and some very large. The one south of us is the second largest fire in the nation. Most have been started by lightening.
