This Week’s OwyheeStar News

Saturday at Owyheestar

DSC00843Yesterday, we said good-bye to the wonderful month of October. We are looking forward to Thanksgiving, and Christmas; however, what a grand month we have had. The weather in far Eastern Oregon has been exceptional. I still have tomatoes hanging on the vine in the garden. Can you believe it? While I am counting my blessings let me begin with Cliff, who works so hard to keep everything going–the property, and all associated with doing what we do. In addition, he has been painting the farm house next door. It looks so different. All the house, and outbuildings were the dirty (peeling white) paint. It is matching our house. I think that will look much nicer. The windows are still taped off, because Cliff needs to give it a second coat of paint. He also has replaced the four bedroom windows. We cannot say how old they were, but saying they needed replaced is an understatement.

Puppy Faces and Puppy Breath

1_Sadie X Stackhouse WK1-9Work may always require our attention, and concerted focus; however, we have some blessed distractions. Puppies are here. Yes, those awaiting their arrival might have felt like it was taking forever, but we have them. We expect another litter in the next week or so. We have our longhairs we needed–that is an understatement. The number of traditional smooth coats were fewer (by far) than expected. We are looking to Zula Blue in hope of getting smooth-coats. Of course, there are not going to be enough to go around, and we will find ourselves looking to early 2015 to make some dreams come true. She is holding off a bit, which is a blessing. She is happy, healthy, and has a round tummy. More than one person is waiting breath-abated.

This Week

We enjoy your stories, as do others. There were some great ones this week.

Sunday October 26  — Schatzi’s First Hunt

Monday October 27 — Kirby need we say more?

Tuesday October 28 – Tango (Where does the time go?)

Wednesday October 29 — Bliss

Thursday October 30 — Precious Zoey and Magnum (The Saga Continues)

Friday October 31 — Adventures in House Sitting (with Hank)

On a very personal note……

Cliff and I continue to do what we do. I am in limbo waiting on the Oncotype DX test results. It is about 75% sure I will be starting chemotherapy in the next couple of weeks. We are taking one day at a time. We have our family, our friends, and our work. It is all good.

As Always…

Thank you for your love and support. Keep the puppy updates coming.
