Blu is a Perfect Match
Hello Cliff and Shela,
We hope this e-mail finds you well. Sri and I would like to update you on our new pup Blu .
Blu is doing extremely well and just completed his 12 week vaccines and check-up. He has gained over 8 lbs in the last 4 weeks and is weighing in at 16 1/2 lbs. He still seems to be trailing others at his age, but he has the personality and smarts to make-up for it. Blu nows goes “Potty” on command when outside. Knows “Blu Come” very well and responds 100% of the time. Also knows, “Sit”, “Lay Down”, “Get It” (fetch), and “Let Go” (give it up).
We hope you enjoy these photos. You and Cliff did a great job, thank you for matching us up the a great family member. ~ Sri and Kevin
Breeder’s Note: We appreciate the update on Blu! It is always wonderful receive news that things are going well. Much of what happens depends upon how a person approaches the pup’s arrival (and transition). It is easy to experience a hiccup sooner rather than later. A small wrong turn can get the process going in an unwanted direction. We always recommend a simple approach; however, in truth, it is not easy. When you consider the concrete-thinking Weimaraner’s way of looking at things, as well as their propensity toward separation-anxiety, it is easy to make an error in judgment. These mistakes usually happen when a person is trying to do everything right. Then frustration, and trying to correct the problems can add to the issues.
For those who are struggling, remember that the Weimaraner is concrete-thinking. Short sessions, and a lot of simple follow through will get results. Kevin and Sri have done excellent, but it is best not to compare results. This is not a horse race; the first person to finish is not the only winner. Everyone who completes the course will get the reward of having a great relationship. As with humans, not everyone does it exactly the same. Sometimes a challenging pup, ends up being extremely rewarding. Raising a pup is always a growth process. They make us better on so many levels. Special thanks to Kevin and Sri for sharing their success, and the photo update. We truly appreciate it!
