Kali is growing more and more everyday, last time she was at the vet she weighed in at 36 Lbs (that was back in July) she is probably close to 45 Lbs now.
She is healthy and training is going well. She loves to go running with me and has a heart full of gold. I couldn’t have asked for a better friend and companion, thank you! She loves playing with other dogs and is full of energy and ready to play when I come home.
Took Kali Blue out to meet with a hunt-trainer on the 11th of November and get some field time. I was really impressed with her natural ability to hunt, I guess she gets it from her dad! We tossed a wounded chucker out for her about four or five times and shot blanks, she did amazing. By the third bird she was dropping it at my feet ready for the next one. Then we took her out in the field to test her nose, we had four birds in traps throughout the field. We ran her three times and she was on point by the second or third bird. Can’t wait to get her down there more, great people and amazing results!
Cliff Note: Phillip you did everything right with Kali! I always recommend working with the trainer in the field. Sending the Weimaraner out to a trainer, often backfires. Never forget the Weimaraner is all about the relationship. Sending them to a trainer, might mean they hunt for the trainer, but not so much for you. It also can create a wealth of other behavioral issues. Training should be a positive experience for everyone involved. Keep up the great work. Thanks for sharing with us ~ Cliff
